Since my thread about 4K got mostly no sold I figured changing up the topic could help. I'd really like to be blown away by 4K and thought a thread like this might help

I'm not sure if it's actually available in 4K, but it should be: The Fall. One of the most stunning films I've ever seen, mostly achieved just by shooting in some of the most fantastic locations on the planet, and Tarsem Singh's incredible eye for a good shot.

It looks like it's not yet actually, but I'd love to check it out. Also, in case you or anyone else is interested Paul found this list and posted it in my other thread: hd-report.com/list-of-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-disc-titles/It lists every title released on 4K so far as far as I know which is pretty cool to have.

For it's many, many failings, Avatar is beautiful to look at in 4K.

Anything by Terrence Malick. (Can’t guarantee it won’t bore the shit out of you though).
Pleasantville I haven’t seen it for a long time but I remember it looking amazing back then. The colour against black and white looks stunning and as more and more colour is added, it looks even prettier.

Life of Pi deserves a mention, I think. It is strikingly beautiful.

The first movie that immediately comes to mind is Hero, with Jet Li.

His follow up “Immortals” is worth seeing for the same reason as well.

When I saw Skyfall I thought it was one of the most beautifully shot movies I'd ever seen. But anything shot by Roger Deakins is great.
The Scarlet Empress isn't really one of my favorite movies but it's amazingly gorgeous to look at.

Brotherhood Of The Wolf combines some absolutely gorgeous cinematography, set and costume design, and direction with some brutal combat. Story is a little too meh for it be a classic but it is a spectacular movie visually.

Blade Runner 2049 makes me wish I had 4K. Absolutely beautiful film.

Likewise, Silent Hill is kind of weak story wise but is visually absolutely horrifying. Far and away the best video game movie, at least.

That movie is visually stunning, I’d love to see it in 4K but I’ll be damned if I’m replacing all my Blu Rays at this point
