Yeah, the AJ thread turned out to be a curb stomp. Well, since Becky’s The Man! I should compare her to a man.
So, who was more over at their peak? Daniel Bryan circa 2014 or Becky Lynch now?

Becky is the women’s division mirror to Bryan at least.
Fans refused to accept what WWE was setting up. It paid off big time.

If it means anything, current day Becky is more over than current day Bryan, even during his face run in 2018. That said, 2013 DB had stadiums full of attendees emulating his mannerisms....in football and basketball games. And then you take the actual WWE crowds into account? He was the closest thing we got to Stone Cold in 1998 and current Becky is the closest thing we got to DB in 2013.

I think the best comparison for Becky right now, as far as the men go, is maybe CM Punk around the time he started his long title reign. Not quite as popular as Bryan in 2013-14, but still nothing to sneeze at.

That period for Daniel Bryan is the most over I think I’ve seen anyone in the 30+ years I’ve been watching wrestling.

This is a curbstomp in the other direction. Bryan was the most over superstar since Attitude days.

Becky is over, don’t get me wrong. She is very over. But, she isn’t moving the needle. She is as over as can be to the fans that are around.
Bryan in 13-14 moved the needle.
Bryan in 13-14 was the most over wrestler since Stone Cold.
I make the argument that Bryan is still more over than Lynch.

Bryan.
To disagree is basically just saying you weren't watching in late 13/early 14.

Becky is over, but Bryan was a phenomenon.

People have been comparing Becky to Steve Austin in terms of personality, but in terms of actual popularity, that comparison went to Bryan.

I mean, I don’t have a spreadsheet for you, but are you saying it is wrong? The launch of the WWE Network was done with WM30 as the centerpiece, which was Bryan’s show. Pro sports teams adopted the Yes chant, including that year’s SB champions. Bryan was the number 2 merch seller behind Cena, who was still full time and moving ungodly amounts of merch. Ratings were a lot higher than they are now. Do these numbers mean anything?

Yeah, I remember saying even at the time that Bryan's pops were getting close to Austin and Rock's in the Attitude Era. As for Becky, she's the most over I can remember a woman being since at least Trish. And that's pretty damn impressive.

Becky Lynch is "main eventer" over. Daniel Bryan in '13-'14 was getting "generational superstar" over. And this isn't a knock on Becky Lynch because I'd argue she's one of the most over, if not THE most over person on today's roster. But Bryan's popularity as the ultimate underdog during the height of the Yes Movement was something I haven't seen since the Attitude Era.

Nobody was as over as Bryan was since the attitude era.

But I do admit to liking the gimmick of male WWE Superstars like Xavier Woods wearing "I am The Man" shirts, that said Becky's overness has potential to go up come 'Mania with the right match against Rousey for the right stakes (Blue vs Red Women's Champ match for Unification)

I don't think we can call it because I don't think Becky's peaked yet.
