I hate the word “shaming” so damn much. Lol
Maybe it’s just me, I don’t have the DLC, I don’t plan on getting the DLC, and I don’t give a **** if a little marker is next to my name. There are so many more important things in this world to spend energy being mad about.

OK not a gamer so let me try to understand... Activision is giving players who don't subscribe a 'badge' that tells everyone else that they're not subscribers? Doesn't that mean that they're singling out casual players as... what? Lesser players? Or maybe because they're 'casuals' you shouldn't be too hard on them? Basically. It's a psychological manipulation tactic to embarrass you into buying DLC. And a really transparent one at that. OK so now my question is this: do they keep track of how many 'wins' badged and non-badged players have, and would it show how many subscribers a 'filthy casual player' has beaten? Because it might be funny to have a 'movement' of players who don't subscribe who are 'collecting' subscriber kills...

It is absolutely gonna turn into 'You don't have all the DLC, what a f**king loser'

It is absolutely gonna turn into 'You don't have all the DLC, what a f**king loser' Oh yeah, this is a peer-pressure tool, plain and simple. We've all been teens, we've either noticed or been the victim of it in some way. "You don't have the Season Pass? Parents probably can't even afford it, loser." People already do it in some ways with online gaming, this is basically just gonna make people targets of some of the more toxic members of the gaming community. And for those who say that they don't care if there's a marker next to your name, the fact is that this shouldn't be implemented in the first place, and if its allowed and people don't speak out against it, it can open up the gates to other shady business practices.

Kek. It just tells the people who don't have that sweet badge when they get pwned by a person who does have the "shame" badge that they should alt-f4 the game. ya lower then a "noob"!!!!!!! Or something.

From now on, if you don't preorder a game and buy all of the released DLC, Activision will publish your home address, phone number, and sexual orientation on their FB and Twitter accounts. And that's for every game they release. Bethesda did that first to the people trying to get their Fallout 76 canvas bags.

There are so many more important things in this world to spend energy being mad about. I really don't understand that argument. It's basically saying "It's not the worst so even though it's abhorrent, manipulative and exploitative, we shouldn't do anything about it". Just because there are more important things in the world doesn't mean we can't care about both. Giving a shit isn't a finite resource, you know. You're not taking it away from one thing just because you also give a shit about something else. And of course, if they can get away with this shit, they're not gonna stop there, so why intentionally wait for something to become the worst before doing something about it, when we can do it now? Why wait for a wound to get infected before treating it?

So glad Bungie got away from this greedy ass company. Didn't Activision (and maybe EA) try to patent a system that would place non DLC players against people with DLC guns and shit to try and push them to buy season passes/loot boxes? And the whole HQ thing in CoD: WW2 that was made almost exclusively to watch people open boxes to push that itch. Lot of shitty practices out there these days.

And if they did, instead of buying the Season Pass, I'd just stop playing the game altogether.

And if they did, instead of buying the Season Pass, I'd just stop playing the game altogether. I came back to Call of Duty for WW2 after not playing for years and while the developer (Sledgehammer Games) made the new content available and pretty accessible to everyone, the maps were still locked behind another $50 pay wall with the season pass. Love the game and still play it, have never bought the maps or any loot boxes because screw that noise. I'll do it to support a small game I like (and admittedly the WWE games) but Activision/EA will never get that kind of money out of me for their half finished nonsense.
