I marked out over the closing credits theme. The West Side Story themed Rumble ad is still one of my favourite things ever.

Surprised Tom Brandi didnt make the list. As an aside that led to one of my favorite JR commentary moments: *Brandi enters the match*
JR: Here comes Tom Brandi lately he's been having issues with Marc...
*Brandi gets eliminated*
JR: (As dismissive as possible) Well good bye Tom.
And then JR doesn't even mention him again.

As I put in the YouTube.com comments: "I correctly guessed #1 when clicking the vid, but what stands out to me about them in that Rumble was how important Curt Hennig on commentary made them seem. Gilbert coming out and Hennig going "Ah, USWA!" did a great job subtly insinuating that if they were on Perfect's radar, they must be good."

I didn’t realize the extent to which WWE was willing to work with other brands in the past. Facing potential real competition for the first time in forever with AEW and an aggressive NJPW expansion, it’s interesting then seem to be doing it again.

93-97 was the peak period for obscure Rumble entrants because the main roster was so small.
I actually kinda like obscure entrants in theory? It drives the point across that the Rumble is such a huge, important event that even wrestlers from promotions around the world want to participate.
