Anyone else see this movie?
So I rented this movie simply based off the fact that it was written and directed by Jonah Hill. I'm...not sure how I feel about it. I think I...liked it. But I don't think I enjoyed it. If that makes sense. And by the end of the movie, I feel like the only likable character ended up being Ray. Like, ONE likable character in the whole movie. And the girl and Sunburn going into the room was just awkward as shit.

I hated every single character in this movie outside of the mom. I'm not sure if you're supposed to hate them or what, but holy hell they're all the dirt worst.

I just couldn’t understand why she would let them see Stevie after what happened. I thought she was gonna wake them up and yell at them. These dudes almost got your son killed, what are you thinking?! But yeah, damn near everyone else is just an all around terrible person. Ruben and f***shit and the older brother tied for worst.

Check out my review of this film. From what I understand, it seemed that the movie "Kids" was one of the inspirations for this film. There was virtually no likable characters in that film, either. I did like the story and the way it was presented. I found it interesting that it was shot on a 4:3 ratio and I like the soundtrack to it. I can't argue about the characters. I really did not like Ruben, especially when he started giving Stevie the cold shoulder after the guys gave him attention from that accident. I also wondered if his philosophy about "saying 'thank you' makes you gay" was somehow ruined after Ray told Stevie that saying thanks is proper manners.

When he said that, my first thought was “Ray literally just said ‘thanks little homie.’” Ruben was such a trash person I didn’t even feel bad for him.
