They should give Elias a title shot against Brock at Fastlane or something. Obviously I wouldn't expect Elias to win or the match to be a classic, but dude's over and you can do those kinds of things on a PPV like that. I would have done Elias/Brock at the Rumble and saved Balor/Brock for WrestleMania with Balor winning. Elias would have had entertaining segments with Heyman, and you could have had an entertaining midcard act jobbing to Lesnar instead of having Balor get the "Suplex City" treatment. You could even do a cool hope spot where Elias hits Brock with the guitar while the ref's distracted or whatever.

Provided that Brock sells the guitar shot for a two-count instead of shrugging it off easily.

Corbin's not over? Well.. That's just not true. He gets great heel heat. He's not getting "cool heel" cheers - he's a douche who people like to see get whooped. His heat doesn’t count because we don’t like him here.

If there's any heel on the main roster that gets X-Pac Heat, it's Baron Corbin. How do you reach that conclusion though? He goes out and does his thing and people boo him and cheer the face he's up against accordingly. Isn't that the goal? Does X-pac heat mean "heel I dislike gets boos" now?

I reach that conclusion because when he was one of the focuses of the company, ratings tanked so much that the McMahons had to actually make themselves active characters again to wright the ship. That soured him a lot and it's hard to recover from that misuse.

Both of them are pure WWE products and it shows. They. Are. Boring. Wrestlers. In fairness Elias has spent more time on the indies than Seth Rollins. Of course it doesn't mean he's going to be that great of a wrestler as we can see but yeah.

Worst part is Corbin winning. He's not over at all and Elias very much is. Why feed Elias to a heatless waste of space? ...to try and get him over? ...isn't that how this works? Also I'm just razzin' yeah, I love both of these guys, I even liked GM Elect Corbin, but he's a complete waste of space right now. He needs to go off TV and get repackaged.

You could basically redo Cena-Lesnar from 2003. Elias sings songs about Brock, him and Heyman go back and forth. Elias has a strong showing against Lesnar, but ultimately comes up short.

That soured him a lot and it's hard to recover from that misuse. His misuse contributed big time, yeah. I won't argue that - there was wayyyy too much Corbin on TV. But you can also point to Brock taking the title hostage again, Roman having to leave, the Crown Jewel fiasco as contributing factors to the decline. That's not the conversation, though. Didn't the term X-Pac heat originate from the fact that he got booed regardless of alignment and narrative? Baron's character is a smug dick, and he gets booed as such. The Revival, Lashley, et al. would love to get that heat.

I can understand wanting to push Corbin especially in a more suitable midcard role as he does get a lot of heat and regardless of what kind of heat it is it's still a reaction. On the other hand though I don't get repeatedly feeding him Elias who they continue to job and try to cool off for some reason even though he's just recently turned face and really needs to be protected a lot more.
