I'm assuming it was during his off time, but that was a 4 year span. Did he make up for past sins against others?

There’s apparently an exact date. April 24, 2002 was when he officially became a born-again Christian according to an interview he did on TSN’s Off the Record show.

When he showed how much he changed when he acted like an ass and tanked a Main Event of a PPV, and then mocked it the next night on Raw, sometime around then.

Sometime post March 2001.
He was supposed to be involved in the HHH Undertaker match but showed up to Raw high out of his mind.
Glad he cleaned himself up and had amazing second run.

Uh, no People who expressly built the negative reputation they're trying to overcome on being petulant and behaving badly on screen when they didn't get their way behind the scenes probably shouldn't engage in that exact behavior again.

He was actually supposed to wrestle on Mania 17 against Trips if I can recall and then yeah, showed up on RAW drugged out of his gord.

They shouldn't, but considering the recipient was Hulk Hogan, I think it's forgivable.
