I mean, they got divorced in early 2002, and while I remember they would have occasional nods to the real-life relationship around 2005-2006, the earliest I can remember it actually being a thing onscreen was the Orton Mania 25 feud, yet it was kind of treated like it had already been an established thing for quite awhile at that point.
I realize the easiest answer is, "They blurred the lines on reality and you're supposed to just ignore the 2002 breakup," but still.

I like to imagine it was after RAW's 10th Anniversary where Hunter and Steph won the Shut Up And Kiss Me Award.

He made a couple of jokes about Stephanie and him being together during the 2006 DX Run.

Well it was acknowledged at the beginning of 2009, so it had to be sometime before then - my suggestion would be that they got back together while Triple H was rehabbing for his Summerslam 2007 comeback?

They generally would acknowledge it on WWE.com. Like they announced Triple H and Stephanie were expecting their first child in 2006. Until the Orton angle in 2009, it became more of a winking joke for the audience when they'd make a veiled reference to it.

I can remember subtle references here and there to there off-screen relationship and a backstage segment where the two crossed paths, with Steph wishing HHH good luck in his match. Crowd popped heavy for that from memory.

Crowd popped heavy for that from memory. At Judgment Day 2003, Stephanie stopped him as he was headed towards the ring for his match with Kevin Nash and told him to be careful. There was no crowd reaction at all for whatever reason.

Maybe the pop didn't happen then, but im sure there was as moment that referenced their relationship which created a reaction of sorts.

What about that backstage segment where Vince introduced the two of them and they were acting like nervous school crushes?
