Was actually just looking at this card a few minutes ago. Definitely gonna check out the top 3 fights. Curious to see how Swagger does, enjoy watching Pico murk dudes, and who needs an excuse to watch Fedor? Although, I’ve been calling Bader to win since the Grand Prix started.
Busy weekend, with this, NXT and Rumble

Just watching for Aaron Pico and to see if Swagger is any good. Everytime Fedor fights its just a reminder that Bellator encourages PED usage.

I hope Swagger does well. Should do at least better than Punk.

I’m excited for Swagger. He has the legit wrestling base and always seemed like a good athlete.

I thought this said Fedor vs Swagger. I was thinking “Holy shit, Jack is gonna get f***ed up”
Hopefully he does well. He’s got the background.

Also, he’s fighting JW Kiser who doesn’t have the most impressive record. Here he is on Sherdog: m.sherdog.com/fighter/JW-Kiser-166997I wouldn’t mind seeing Swagger go through 3 or more cans in 2019. Then depending on his skill either start moving him into more competitive fights with the end game being a Bellator title fight since that senior division honestly isn’t that competitive. If Swagger loses, barely wins, or just isn’t that impressive after some can fights start blowing some wads on freak show fights. Swagger said once he’d love to fight Roy Nelson and heck I’d dig it too! CM Punk set the bar real low for this sort of thing so if Saturday after the fight starts he stumbles, trips into the cage, and knocks himself out...he’d still be about as impressive as Punk.

Hopefully, Swagger stays active and continues to hone his craft Smashing what seems to be a can of a can today is the right first step

Swagger should take the exact same career path as Lashley, including an early career freak show fight against Bob Sapp. (He won an MMA fight in 2018, BTW)

Lashley took breaks from wrestling but once he became a center of attention in TNA, he pretty much never really had fights. I guess also didn't help that once TNA left Spike, they didn't really have that cross connection with Bellator as much anymore

I’ll be checking this one out. No clue who the dude even is that Swagger is fighting but I expect Jack to win pretty easily just based on his grappling experience.
The good thing for Swagger is that there’s no way that he will be as bad as Punk so he’ll at least have that going for him.

Swagger doing the we-the-people chest slap at the weigh-in lol Yeah, that was the top promotional pic for him on a Bellator post earlier in the week too. It’s not the worst way to help brand/promote him. If any non wrestling fan knows Swagger it’s probably from that stuff.

Swagger better guarantee his win by using the undeniable defence of the crab walk

Anyone watched Swagger wrestle in college? He was in Oklahoma right? I know the cowboys have an excellent program, but was he any good?

He was supposed to be great, but amateur wrestling can be dull as dirt so can’t say I can sit through much Swagger amateur wrestling footage if it even exists. Life is just too short. Anyway, he had the most pins in a single season at Oklahoma with 30 pins that JR mentioned on commentary early in Swagger’s career. Also, he once placed 7th in the NCAA Division I championships.

Interesting to see how he does as I expect him to use his wrestling and just wear the guy down. I assume he has some simple submissions down too but will be interested to see what his striking is like. Considering he wants Big Country, I assume it is half way decent or he can take a punch

Well JR's hardons for Oklahoma made him embellished a lot of shit, like with Dr Death. Definitely. That's why I mentioned that JR cited that as impressive since like I said I don't really watch much amateur wrestling from about 15 years ago so I don't have a frame of reference. 30 pins in one season sounds impressive. But if guys at other schools are getting 40 and 50 pins it looks less so. Like I said I don't know much about that so you'll have to take such info with a grain of salt. Plus, I have to emphasize that this amateur wrestling was about 15 years ago. Having such a background and at least being familiar with combat sports puts him way ahead of where Punk was at, but aside from that we should have a lot more questions answered this Saturday.

Here's the thing. The Dan Hodge trophy is the Heisman of collegiate wrestling, Swagger never came close to sniff it. He was never in consideration for any sort of award. 30 pins in one season is impressive, but I've fallen for Jim Ross' bullshit before. Like how Dr Death was the toughest man ever in wrestling and that he should've played in the nfl and gone to the olympics. Turns out JR was lying.
