So let's compare these infomous of WCW comedy, the nWo 4 Horsemen parody and the Oklahoma.
Which was more offensive and in poor taste, did you find any of it funny. I have to admit a guily pleasure is I found Nash's Arn impression kind of funny, but I think that is more because Nash himself is funny. If you take making fun of illness, Oklahoma is kind of a good spot on JR, in making fun of how serious JR took himself.
Does any of this make me a bad person. Oklahoma was a low blow, but so was Scheme Gene, Huckster, it goes both ways.

I found that the nWo parody gained steam in terms of badness after the fact; it was stupid, but no more/less than DX's Nation of Domination stuff. The Oklahoma stuff was a personal attack on an affliction.

Oklahoma was worse by far...... I’m sorry, but I though the Horsemen Parody was hilarious. I feel bad, because I respect the hell out of Arn Anderson... but it was funny to me.

The Horsemen parody might be more favorably looked at if the Horsemen were allowed to actually beat the nWo in retaliation.
Payoff or not payoff, Oklahoma was never not going to be trash.

Oklahoma was much worse. That felt like a personal attack on JR. With the Horsemen parody, that was exactly what the NWO had been doing since they arrived, mock the establishment. I get why the Horsemen were so livid and to Arn's credit, he seemed to take it in stride until he talked to his wife. But both Nash and Bischoff have both expressed some remorse over it and have even said they wouldn't do that again. Russo I don't believe has ever done anything like that. All he does is devolve into whataboutism with Vince doing his impression.

Not even close here, Oklahoma was terrible and there was no excuse for it. The Horseman parody was funny and it almost seems like everyone else got more upset for Arn than Arn himself.

I'm in the minority, but I like Oklahoma. But I think it's due to my disdain of Jim Ross.
It gave us "Pinata! Pinata! Pinata!"

Oklahoma was way worse. It was a blatant effort to use a man's illness to get chuckles and be edgy.
Horsemen was insensitive at worst, but it was just a bunch of heels doing an over-the-top caricature of their kayfabe enemies.

I love Jim Ross and all, but I have to admit I found when he talked about a wrestler's amateur football background, my thoughts was "who cares?", so when Oklahoma does make fun of that, I do appreciate that, I thought that I was the only one who thought that, though I thought Tony playing off that was more funny than Oklahoma himself.

I don't find either offensive.
Stupid, yes. But not offensive.
Though I guess the Arn one was worse because it made Nash want to go out in creppy-ass plastic makeup every week for a while with his stupid Sid and Vince promos.

Arn's parody was unfortunately self inflicted, the beer cooler used? It was Arn's.
Oklahoma went out of its way to mock Jim Ross's real life disease. It was so uncalled for that even wcw executives apologized to JR.

At the time I thought the nWo parody was hilarious, me and my friends would do the "My Spot, your spot, dogspot, liverspot" speech nearly every week after that lol. My only gripe was that the Horsemen never got even with the nWo on that one.
The Oklahoma deal was way worse.

I think that in a way, the Oklahoma segments got Ed Ferrara blackballed from wrestling.

The Horsemen parody would have been better if it hadn't been immediately following Arn's retirement, or if the Horseman had actually gotten revenge for it. Oklahoma....I actually thought was pretty funny except portraying JR's Bell's palsy. It least it was better than this: ![](https://cdn3.whatculture.com/images/2014/02/vince-mcmahon-jim-ross.jpg)

In the Guy Evans "Nitro" book it was noted that Ferrara did his JR impression when he was writing WWF shows with Russo and it cracked people up in the back. Thing is, in that case it was a "We kid because we love" bit whereas doing it on the competitor's show and adding the Bell's Palsy just made it anger inducing and offensive.
The difference is this: Is there an attempt to draw money? The NWO skit at least was something designed to draw money for the next PPV where they faced the Horsemen in Wargames. The Oklahoma thing had no intention of drawing money (how could it?) so it was pointless on top of everything else.
