- John Cena proposes to Nikki Bella. Nevermind the fact that the engagement was doomed to fail. Regardless of how you feel about the two of them, you have to admit that it was just overly manufactured. The entire plot of their feud with Miz and Maryse was that their love story was fake and devoid of any real love. Anybody who watched the feud predicted that it would end in Cena's proposal, as it was the only logical conclusion. It seemed like Nikki Bella was the only person in the building who pretended to be shocked by the proposal. Bottom line, it did not feel like Cena proposed because he wanted to marry Nikki. It felt like he proposed because Vince McMahon told him to do so to make a WrestleMania moment.

Hogan got a big pop for winning the belt at WM 9. Whatever you think of the booking and Hogan as a politicker that really doesn't fit the question here.

anytime in the last few years where they tried to manufacture a "wrestlemania moment!" usually spotted by the announce team talking about it being one

Big Show in a mawashi (Sumo pants) for his match with Akibono at Mania 21 has to be up there. At least put them on over some tights like Yokozuna did.

I feel like “Anti-Wrestlemania moments” refers to moments that specifically exist to NOT send the fans home happy or give them any sort of closure. Moments where you think you’re going to get that big joyous celebration and feeling of catharsis, and instead you get heels standing tall, or some sort of f***ery to extend the feud or storyline to the next pay-per-view.
So with that in mind I think the endings of Wrestlemania 2000 and Wrestlemania 27 certainly apply. Never gonna be in a highlight reel, no positive way to spin them, just wet fart endings to Wrestlemania.

Kid Rock Concert while the Women unceremoniously got rushed to the ring Closely followed by the Miss Wrestlemania Battle Royal won by a man... Also, the ending of Brawl for All on WM XV.

If anything, WM 2000’s true ending was at Backlash a month after with Austin helping the Rock beat Triple H and company.

I actually always wanted someone during a promo with Cena to dig at him and ask if he even paid for the ring or if Kay gave it to him.

In the other thread, I mentioned everything good about Sting’s match. While not exactly nullifying it, the fact that he lost was a big let-down.
The New Day, the most popular team in WWE, getting their elaborate Booty-O’s entrance and losing to the heatless League of Nations, who would be dissolved that very week.
Demolition at WM7 losing their final high-profile match to Tenryu and Kitao, who would never be seen again aside from a few Rumble appearances by Tenryu some years later.

The god awful Pipers Pit at Wrestlemania 5. I remember as a kid when I would have me WM VHS’s on loop, that particular segment made no sense to me, it was horribly unfunny and it seemed to drag on for 10 years. I remember it taking ages to fast forward through

Triple H vanquishing Randy Orton clean as a whistle at WrestleMania 25. Months of great buildup culminated in a wet fart.

Brodus and His Mama's bridge club. They totally wanted that to be a moment they could reference in future montages for Wrestlemania. I don't think that's ever happened.
Brodus Clay sucked.
