I'm not sure about you, but I dropped out for awhile around 92 ish-when Hulk Hogan was slowing down and being phased out and didn't really pick up again until my brother told me Howard Finkel and Harvey Whippleman were having a tuxedo match, and I was back around early 95ish or so, but more religiously by the time Nitro started.
Oh yea-I should mention I quit watching regularly in the summer of 06 and never truly picked back up-I get all my info from the boards, but sometimes watch the ppvs
How about you? did you ever take a break?

Late 04 to summer of 06. I was in junior high and realized wrestling wasn’t “cool.” But some combination of Wrestlemania 22 and One Night Stand 2006 got me back in.

I've taken three breaks. I first got into things in '84 and stayed a huge fan until somewhere around 1993 and that's about where I zoned out, and then moved to where I didn't have any real access to any TV shows. My first job at a convenience store in 1996-97 came with two coworkers who were old guys but geeking hard over the early days of the NWO and all the names they started talking about had me tuning in to see what was going on with all these old names. Went back into it hardcore until right after the Invasion and had such a bitter taste over that I gave up until the Pipebomb. And while they aren't lost, the years since the week after Punk left up through right now I have taken a hard sabbatical on watching a lot of it. I keep up mostly on here now, and check out YT clips when something piques my interest.

Once I started watching as a kid in late '90/early '91 I don't think I've ever gone full black-out on wrestling, but I've definitely had stretches where I wasn't paying anything resembling consistent attention.
My initial WWF viewing cut off around late 1994; King of the Ring '94 was the last PPV my parents ordered for me, and I remember watching SummerSlam '94 at my cousin's house, but I was getting increasingly out of the loop as so many of the wrestlers I loved from the 80s-early 90s era were being phased out. I ended up following some of them to WCW, but even then I didn't do more than occasionally watch a little Saturday Night on TBS now and then (I remember seeing some of the Dungeon of Doom pre-taped segments when they happened, remember the announcement of the monster truck sumo match, learning what World War 3 was, learning of Hogan's heel turn, etc.) or random WWF Superstars episodes until early 1998.
So yeah, late 1994 through early 1998 I didn't do more than glance in now and then, certainly didn't watch any PPVs or major cards. Early '98 I caught a Nitro episode that had Sting/Luger vs. Hogan/Savage as the main event and found myself caught back up in it, and then I saw the Raw the night after Wrestlemania XIV, so I was into both companies for a bit, but even then I was done watching either of them regularly by 2000, it was just too damn much and, geez, 1999 was a shitty year creatively for both companies. Once the Invasion began I'd watch a few minutes of WWF here and there to keep up, but again I wasn't watching major cards or staying up for full episodes of anything. For some reason I have recollections of seeing some big Smackdown moments during that time, but it just wasn't great. I got back into watching full time when I heard Benoit won the Rumble; I gave up on WWE quickly after that, but got deep into ROH and other wrestling.
tl;dr - late 1994-early 1998, then 2000-early 2004, then I wasn't super into things from around 2010 through 2015 (kept tabs on TNA and ROH but didn't watch a ton) until I got big into NJPW.

The 00s were a bad time. Only had basic antenna until I went to college.
Either had to learn what happened at school or online

Early 90s... Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers were big and I got my live action fighting fix. I was tired of Hogan and Warrior was gone. I remember my brother telling me Bret Hart was champion and I got really confused.
But it was Bret that got me back. There was a Bret Hart music video that my brother had recorded to Tom Petty’s “Making some noise”. Seriously it was the first time a saw a slingshot, into a ladder no less!

Stopped watching regularly in 2004 when I was 13, pretty much when HHH beat Orton at Unforgiven. I'd pop in occasionally over the years to see what was going on, but I never watched a full show. Didn't start watching regularly again until 2011 and since then I've taken a couple breaks that lasted maybe 6 months total.

In 28 years of watching, I've only taken two significant breaks - March 2005 to March 2007, because I was in my first serious relationship and sex > wrestling for any teenage boy, and from about August 2012 - July 2013 for personal reasons. There was also a brief period where I tuned out of Raw during the immeasurably awful guest host era, but was still watching Smackdown.

May 2000-September 2002, August 2005-March 2008, October 2008-January 2010, June 2010-May 2011, May 2013-February 2014, October 2015-November 2016 Thats pretty amazing you can remember that, any big reasons why for some of those? Short answer: I have a gift for remembering precise dates. It's one of the few upsides to OCD. Long answer: May 2000 I graduated 8th grade and went to high school, I think all fans have that teenage moment where they lose interest as their perspectives in life shift. September 2002 I fell back into it after seeing a commercial for Summerslam 2002 and how many dream matches of WWF and WCW guys I'd always wanted as a kid were happening, plus HBK's return. 2005 I went to college and my dorm didn't carry the channels the WWE was on, and while I still followed via DVDs and the ECW One Night Stand, once Jericho left I found I had no real reason to watch. In 2007 I started dated a wrestler who was active on the east coast indies, and between her and Jericho's return, I was back all-in by Mania. October 2008 we broke up, I graduated college and started a new job that had be too busy to follow wrasslin so my attention to it dwindled. January 2010 I heard tell of Bret's return, and they hooked me to Mania. June 2010 I remember the last Raw I watched was the Nexus debut and I loved it, but that same night I would up starting a new relationship with someone who was visiting that wound up becoming a long-distance relationship and my writing career started to take off, so sheer timing-wise wrestling took a back seat. May 2011 it was R-Truth's heel turn that brought me back. Again, not sure how i caught wind of it. I think it was in the aftermath of Mania 27 and Edge's retirement (I was invited to a WM 27 party and the show was so bad I thought "maybe i'm done with it for good") then the pipe bomb solidified it. May 2013 Jay Briscoe's comments just took the wind completely out of my wrestling sails. Like, I know he was just ROH, but after being at Hammerstein for his big title win a month prior and being just super back all into wrestling, I was just really crestfallen and deflated and took a break. I did go to a Summerslam party and enjoyed it, but mostly kept my distance. February 2014 the build to Mania XXX super hooked me. October 2015 I moved to LA and was just so busy with the new job and constant moving I didn't get a chance to really watch. Moved back to Minnesota in 2016 and while I still watched DVDs and followed the product I didn't get much of a chance to watch week-to-week as I was staying with an injured family member I was helping who didn't want to watch wrestling, so I let it go for a bit. Once they fully recovered and I moved into my own apartment in 2016 it was right back on like Wallace Shawn.

Taken 2 breaks.
Started watching every week in late 77. Stopped watching in October 92. Mostly cause I didn't have time cause of work.
Started watching again in 95. That lasted until July 2007. Stopped that time after being at the Beaumont then Houston shows Benoit missed.
In about 2011 came back. Gave up on WWE in 2012. But still watch lots of other feds.

April 3rd, 1995 to January 23rd, 1999.
That would be the day after Wrestlemania XI to the day before the Royal Rumble.
I couldn't take the stupidity anymore. Undertaker vs. King Kong Bundy. Bam Bam vs. LT. And those were the "better" matches. I just didn't want to watch anymore. I was twelve.
Then my little sister got into it somehow, and mom ordered the Royal Rumble. I knew who some of the new guys were, but no clue what was going on.
I just happened to walk through the living room and saw The Rock turning Foley's brain into a pink mist. I was like, "Jesus Christ. This never happened when I watched." I was fifteen, and the target demographic for the Attitude Era.
I watched the whole thing and was hooked again. My friends still watched, so they were happy to have me back. And I've been pretty steady for twenty years now. But I do go weeks without watching a whole show because of how dull things can be.
So I basically skipped the Dark Ages, but I went back and watched the big stuff.

From basically when Cena first won the title until now.
I still keep up and watch in stretches but just don’t care anymore. Once in a while something will pique my interest and I’ll get into an angle, only to watch them bungle it.

August 1990 I left for college. That winter I caught a little bit of WWF and the corniness of Undertaker was enough to convince me I'd outgrown wrestling. NWA/WCW wasn't what it used to be, and World Class and the AWA were essentially out of business. I'd occasionally stop and watch while flipping through channels but didn't follow regularly.
I stayed out until about '95 when I'd finished school and could afford cable.
The last ten years, I've really only watched RoH and NJPW with any regularity. I've tried to watch WWE a couple times but it's just so formulaic and corporate. Feels like a parody to me.

I stopped watching WWF in 1993 after Wrestlemania. I got into WCW in 97 when I saw all my old favourite WWF guys in the NWO. I stopped watching WCW by the end of 98 and dipped in and out of WWF (Breakdown IYH and Fully Loaded 99) until Channel 4 got the rights to broadcast they 2000 Royal Rumble, so everyone in school then got into wrestling and I've been a fan since.

From 94 to 2004. Because there was no wrestling on TV around here (unless you had satellite and you could get german DSF and get some WCW stuff).

From the show where RVD lost the ECW title in July 06 until January 07 during the Royal Rumble build, I wasn't crazy about how things were going and didn't care for the DX Reunion or Super Cena, so I tuned out for a bit.
