We all know that Foleys brain cells are so damaged that his neurosurgeon said that one bump can kill him.
Foley is only in his late 40s. And because his brain is in such bad shape, his daughter has to be the one to drive him and basically be his brain for him. I fear that in 20 years time, Foley is going to get either severe Althezheimers disease and/or severe dementia in only his 60s which will be real sad.

Its incredible he never was really a painkiller guy, or drugs guy in general. He might be one of the few wrestling brains that will be tested with no drug abuse, just straight history of steel and cement

I’m hoping he has enough money where he can just stay home and recover as best as possible
I do fear what he could be like in 15 years.

It's a real cautionary tale and it is one of those things where I get angry when I see the stupid shit on the indies. Here is one of the greatest characters of all time (for my money, Mankind and Cactus Jack are two of the top 25 gimmicks ever) who could work a damn good match but since he wasn't athletically gifted and had roughly the physique of a jello mold, he took the bumps that he did. I seriously doubt that Mick Foley will be mentally functional by the time he is 60.
It does make you wonder where the trade off is. I don't think he would have gotten to the heights he got to without the HIAC bumps, but at what a price. I think the RR99 match with the Rock was tremendous storytelling, but those chair shots were beyond brutal. Don't even get me started about the C4 BS he pulled in Japan.
All that said, you never know what happens with someone's brain. One doctor could give him a practical death sentence next week and tell him he is next to being a vegetable in 2 years, another could tell him he has 10 years, and they could both be wrong and he could have a plateau effect and stay relatively as is for the rest of his life.

People tried to tell him years ago not to take the bumps he was taking but he wouldn't listen. Now he's starting to regret it and in 15-20 years he'll probably be dealing with dementia. Sad.

Dude was a skinflint, and he's had decades of residuals to look forward to. I hope very much that medical advances can help him and many others suffering from brain damage in the coming years.

All indications are he asked for what he was worth and got it every time. That’s super admirable.
Also of note is that he apparently has to ask clubs to turn down lights before he goes onstage. The guy has been unbelievablly wrecked for his age. Wrestling might have paid for his kids lives, but was it worth it?

I saw Kevin Nash is donating his brain after he dies. I don't recall Big Kev taking a lot of nasty bumps and chair shots. Hell, the Fingerpoke is one of the hardest bumps I've seen him take.

As a kid I really admired what he did to his body and wanted to be a reckless tough sob like him. Flat back bump on the Concrete? No problem.
However older me now realises the health implications

Well I did meet him again about a year ago, and he seemed sharp. So hope for the best for him.
And this proves that that recently defeated CTE lawsuit list was in fact a joke. Why didn't that guy try to get Foley on the list? Mick has no qualms about calling out WWE despite returning to work for them from time to time. Nowinski was someone else they could have got on their side. With these guys on their side, maybe they could have even won! But no, find any wrestler who needs money and happened to work for a company WWE now owns, and/or may have at best barely stuck their foot in an actual WWF/E ring. (No not all the guys on the list are bad people because of this...lots of them were great when we met them, etc. But...yeah.)
Oh, and in before "Well, he hasn't killed anyone despite all this, what was Benoit's excuse, really?" commentary.

Oh, and in before "Well, he hasn't killed anyone despite all this, what was Benoit's excuse, really?" commentary. Foley will call WWE out, but he’s not suing them anytime soon. Dewey works for them, Mick still collects checks from them, I don’t see him burning that bridge anytime soon. And pretty sure WWE funds a lot of Nowinski’s research now, so doubt he’s going after them anytime soon either.

Still, it surprises me that the ambulance chaser who put this together didn't try to undermine that. But then again, he wasn't very smart, soooooo....

Where has been it reported that Noelle has to assist him in major ways? She and Mick have both said so in interviews. Mick has said if he was travelling alone he’d never remember stuff like where he even parked his car or what his hotel room number is.

I wonder if Foley has at least considered doing the hyperbaric oxygen therapy that helped Bryan out? I would think it's at least worth a shot if Foley wants to have a later life that is closer to normal. Pretty sad though, oddly his body has betrayed him less than his mind, which no one expected to be the case when he was taking these disturbing bumps.
