I don't think they even mentioned Roma in the Horsemen DVD HHH on Paul Roma: “The job guy?!?”

Slightly off topic, but is it true that Paul Roma was the first wrestler in history to garner a "You suck" chant from the audience?

Paul was actually even on the Horseman's WWE DVD where he says that Ric Flair has nothing on him and he's got a better body, look and gets more girls than Ric. I don't discount what Triple H said about Paul, especially since Triple H was probably watching the show on TV and thought "the job guy" but he wasn't doing too well himself in WCW and despite his talent and hard work a lot of his success did come down to "who he knew" and not just his hard work or talent so I do feel a little bad for Paul Roma in that DVD. He probably came off as bitter and arrogant purposely in the DVD because he knew it would be portrayed at him being a bad choice for the group.

Yea, that was during the WWE's stellar chop job of people they disliked during the 2000's... But honestly, besides maybe the "getting more women" comment which can't be verified, Roma wasn't really incorrect. He did look better than Ric and Arn physically and he could work as well. I'm a Flair fan, but guys like Roma and Shane Douglas don't like Ric for the same reasons and that's his behavior outside the ring and at the bars, and I can't say that I blame them for their opinion. However, because of their "disrespect" of Ric, of course they're gonna get minimalized by Flair, Hunter and co. In terms of worse horsemen, Roma wasn't a bad choice for a horseman, he was just miscast as a face. I think he would have excelled in a heel Horsemen group.

I wouldn’t really call Roma a jobber so much, he won more matches than SD Jones and he was part of the Young Stallions before Power and Glory-maybe a step above, but still that’s a step above

Roma was worse as a Horseman. I give Mongo a pass on the technical work because his addition was kind of rushed after Brian Pillman signed with the WWF. Can't fault Mongo for having to learn on the job. Roma spent years in the ring before getting the chance to be in the Horsemen and failed to rise to the occasion. For my money, his best run was him being a decent heat magnet in the Pretty Wonderful tag team - and then, Paul Orndorff did the heavy lifting.

Mongo had his NFL Super Bowl Champion credibility and weird charisma to boot. You could tell he was having fun among his peers. I just didnt get any macho vibe from Paul Roma. He seemed like a cugine.
Cugine. (noun) Someone who dresses like a stereotypical Italian from Brooklyn NY. Used to describe someone that has slicked back hair and wears a lot of gold.

Didn't WWE pretty much trick Paul Roma into trash talking Flair et al on the Horsemen DVD? At first he was complimentary, but they told him "Flair said this, and Arn said that," all negative stuff about Roma, and then Roma left his delusional remarks, which in turn actually led Flair and company to bury him as hard and deep as they did?

Roma, easily. He went from WWF low carder/JTTS to WCW Horseman....like, without a step in between. Gadzooks.
Mongo had been a NFL guy, came to WCW to call matches, and IIRC he was literally bribed into being a Horseman with a briefcase of cash. He had a progression and a dickish heel turn to boot.
