But No Way Jose, Hawkins, and Shelton did.
I mean I’m not broken up about it, and I didnt realize until an hour after the show, but They have no plans for this guy at all.

As someone who entered a cash game with one of his picks being EC3 to win about €15 worth and probably lost out because he wasn’t in the Rumble, I’m rather annoyed by this.
From an unbiased perspective, it did seem really weird.

Hey, now!! Shelton's still pretty good. But not relevant. Neither is like 95% of the guys in the company. There is a reason why every WrestleMania, they have to dust off all of the part timers. And no, looking at himself in a mirror backstage during Raw doesn't make EC3 anymore relevant than No Way Jose.

I get what you’re saying, but you don’t have vingettes for a guy with intent of making him immediately absent.

He was not going to win the rumble, and unless you are booked to win it, the Rumble is a terrible place to debut. You're essentially just another guy who gets eliminated. Now, imagine tonight if he attacks and lays out someone like John Cena or Seth Rollins. That immediately puts him over as someone important to the audience.

I have to say I totally didn’t realise until this thread pointed it out. Really odd he wasn’t in it.

I'm ok with that since I think EC3 sucks on his own without having the Dixie type around and it ain't working bringing in that monster just to get EC3 over

He must have missed the lineup for numbers while fawning over his reflection.

Just being thrown in there as another body to fill it out is far worse than not being in it. All of them deserve that, IMO, they need the spotlight on them at first, either in a promo or match.

There were a lot of guys in the back not used in the Rumble *shrug*
They didn't have much use for him in NXT, he lost 95% of his matches, or got beat down almost every time we saw him to the point where during his final NXT match, commentary went on about his needing momentum before moving up to Raw or Smackdown... and he STILL lost (and got beat up ah-gain), so I'm not sure why people are really surprised.

I just don’t get the hype for EC3 at all. He’s just..bleh to me. And his name sucks.

He probably should have just gone back to Derrick Bateman to lose the baggage.
That said, not even sure what I'd do with him as a booker. Maybe have him with Drake as another prospect for him to manage.

I thought Hawkins and No Way Jose actually had memorable spots in the Rumble that go the crowd involved so I don't mind their involvement at all. I've always loved Shelton and his presence was a nice counterpoint to all the young talent involved in the Rumble.
For me the waste of spots were Jinder Mahal and Apollo Crews, who did absolutely nothing of note. And I'm so sick of Ziggler. Take those 3 out and you could've put EC3 and a couple more surprises (I'm bummed that KO didn;t feature)
