The match was fine but is THE classic example of boredom booking that the WWE utilises i.e. books the same championship match for MONTHS on end to the point the crowd are just sick of it. Bryan/AJ have had 2 great tv matches and a great match at TLC. Why do we need a fourth? Why not put Mustafa Ali in there to tear it up for 15 minutes with Daniel Bryan? Or if you don't want 2 big underdog world title fights on the same PPV, how about Bryan/Rey or Bryan/Jeff Hardy? Why do we need to see Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles for the fourth time? Why should we care? AND the ending kind of sets up a FIFTH match between them. It's f***ing redundant. There are so many options these days on TV, especially in an era where it seems that ANYONE on the roster is but one big win away from a world title match at all times. Vary it up! Yeah the Rumble sells itself so the championship matches never really mater who’s in them, it always cool to see early in their career guys Kennedy or Dolph get a title shot, or random mid carders guys Bob Holly or a pre Hall of Pain Mark Henry.

AJ Styles had a lame, overly long match on PPV where nothing happened and it killed the crowd? I haven't been this shocked Roderick Strong did a backbreaker. Which is weird because at SD! AJ f***ing kills it Nakamura vs AJ at Smackdown was freaking awesome too.Yet their PPV ,besides the last were just good at best.

Match #4 needs to be a street fight or a cage match. Throw Mysterio in there and make it a triple threat.
At least this match didn’t end with a ball shot. I don’t know who’s gotten more low blows over the past few years AJ or Lesnar?

My kingdom for a world where people can have different opinions and it isn't blamed on hive minds, "the cool thing to do", or people just deciding they're not going to like something no matter how it turns out, but just on people actually having different opinions. Yeah that's fine but i've literally seen people say that they would rather have Jinder in Styles spot. There's having different opinions and then theres the side effects of high quality drugs. I'm sober at present and I would rather see Bryan vs. Jinder, because I haven't seen it four times already, and because AJ's character now is exhaustingly boring. Jinder is terrible, and it entertains me. Or I might just be being contrarian. I'm not sure even I know if I am... Or possibly spiteful, because I found AJ overrated pretty much until the New Japan run, loved him in WWE, and like many people got turned off during his long WWE title run.

I feel like it was too slow and methodical. I love AJ because his matches were always fast paced and full of cool reversals and stuff.

It just needed a story. I miss Bret Hart style matches so damn much.

The match was fine, just underwhelming given that it's AJ and Bryan who are obviously capable of so much better.
It just had way too much going against it. It was in the middle of another multi-hour WWE PPV, the storyline going into the match was just "meh" even though Bryan did his damnedest to get it over with his mic work, and at no point did anyone actually buy Styles winning the title back so soon.

It didn't need to be that long. If Rowan's going to jump in, anyway, shave a few minutes off of the match and give it to the Rumble or to Balor/Brock.
At this point, AJ as a title contender feels as boring as Brock is against guys like Braun and Roman. He needs a break from title contention in a big way. More importantly, we need a break from him in his Batista-style "Give me a title match every month" mode.

He was champion for a year and challenging for it constantly before and after.
