Eh.
Looks like Dark Knight 4 but without bothering to adhere to the continuity of 1-3. That isn't something that excites me personally.
Also, I've been a comic book reader for 35 years, so of course I like Batman, but the older I get the less he's a favorite of mine. People say they like him because he's the most realistic, but he's supposed to be a regular guy with no super powers who just happens to be pretty much indestructible, is the best fighter ever, the best detective ever, the best businessman ever, and repeatedly adopts teenage boys without people accusing him of being a pedophile. Yes, what a realistic character.
Anyway, I will check it out on streaming if its getting rave reviews or something, but if most reviews are average to negative I'll skip it. I've seen more than enough Batman movies at this point, I'm good.

Just super hyped about this, but the Apes movies were fantastic so I trust in Matt Reeves to deliver a great final product.

It's still a hellhole where lunatics run amok and commit crimes and when caught just go to Arkham for a three month or so vacation before they get out and do it again. The mob has every police, judge and official in their back pocket. What has he accomplished other then recruiting teenage boys to wear booty shorts and serve as a meatshield?

Being balls deep into Gotham the TV Series, I have to say that trailer... That's not MY RIDDLER! Also is this the New Generation Batman after the jacked up Hulkamania era Batfleck?

Just thinking about now, given Batman in this film is early in his existence, fairly inexperienced, clearly much more angry without as much self control, to the point of Alfred being concerned about potentially self-destructive he is...
We've potentially ended up with a pseudo adaptation of Arkham Origins of all things.

Damn this looks dope. I'm fully in. I also love how dark it is. Yeah, gimme that. Let me see that darkness in the heart of Bruce. Love the idea of him not knowing what Batman is quite yet and letting that rage get unleashed through the mask. Creates a very unique Batman very rarely seen. I love it. Just thinking about now, given Batman in this film is early in his existence, fairly inexperienced, clearly much more angry without as much self control, to the point of Alfred being concerned about potentially self-destructive he is... We've potentially ended up with a pseudo adaptation of Arkham Origins of all things. Yall are so right. Robert Pattinson so far looks to be doing damn well as that kind of Bruce too. You can see the torture, the pain, the fury, even when he was punching as Batman everything he did felt "nasty" and I've never seen that from any version of Batman on screen. We've got from all these different versions but this one actually feels like he's going to carry all that inside of him. When he was fighting it really reminded me of Batman from the Arkham games. It just looked "rough" in a "dangerous" style like it needed to be. And someone else brought up a good point. I heard that this is Bruce in his second year as Batman and it's evident by how he's moving. That Batmobile of his didn't look like a seasoned Batmobile. It looked like he thought "alright, I need something that can do the job" and he upgraded it a little bit, it still looks super early and I love that idea. Catwoman just looking at dude pummel that guy repeatedly, her looking on in shock, damn that's so dope. I don't know what it'll take in order for Bruce to want to calm down (maybe something in this movie, maybe he'll meet Robin in a sequel) but man the fact we're even talking about it like this is impressive. In every Batman movie we've always talked about how cool he'll be, how awesome the villains will be. This is the first I can recall where we're actually speaking about Bruce's psyche in this detail.

It's a young and angry Bruce not knowing his way yet which I think is a good thing. Pattinson has the look down like he's just hanging on from not being crazy

The detective stuff is one thing I've always wanted with the Riddler as a villain and real detective stuff, not that 90s action movie Batman Forever stuff so we will see how that works out. Man Riddler is going to mess this dude up you already know lol. Has it been confirmed that Dick Grayson won't be in this or have they not mentioned it? I'm half expecting them to have a Flying Graysons poster at the end of this be on Bruce's table.

Agreed I had no interest in this movie until the castings started coming out and everything from there has been above my expectations. The serial killer angle they are taking with Riddler and the games is what you would expect in a 2021 version of everything I don't think there has been any mention of Dick Grayson but wouldn't be surprised about a mention of the Grayson Family.

Can't say this does much for me, really (as mentioned above, it feels very Dark Knight 4, which... eh), but as long as there's no Court of Owls in it (as was theorized early on), i'm fine with it.

Honestly I'm kind of thinking Riddler feels like the worst part of it? There's not a lot to go on but his stuff feels like it's trying too hard and the question mark in the coffee is some Deadly Premonition shit.

It's probably too political too link but check out Movie Bob's twitter reaction to the trailer, it honestly reads like he had a stroke.

I think given how politically adjacent that reaction is and how fairly divisive he is as a figure (I have some thoughts about him which are not really fitting for this board) Moviebob (or at the very least his Twitter thoughts) is probably best not to be brought up given the potential fallout.

Not interested, honestly. I just want a new live action Batman movie that whole heartedly embraces camp and fun.

Not sure I'd go worst but they definitely have placed less of a focus on him so far. Feels like Penguin has more to do with the film than him so far.
