Finally got to saw it tonight, I really enjoyed it. It was a great take on a darker, grittier Batman without being too edgy. I mean, characters swore in this and it felt natural rather than "OMG YOU GUYS, BATMAN SAYS f***!!!". One thing I liked is it focused more on Batman being a detective. This movie was sort of like the Arkham games meets Se7en. Man, Riddler was ABSOLUTELY creepy. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Of course he would have a bunch of incel followers online shooting up people...

Fun fact: if you play the soundtrack while driving at night or in the rain, you totally feel like Batman.

Finally went out to see 'The Batman'. Went to a 4:30pm show on Saturday, and when bought tickets online it said only bout 15-20 would be in same theater. All in all thinking no problem. WELL....
1) took bus to theater and for some reason driver blanked and skipped my stop. Me and other people looking to get off at same spot had to alert driver he missed it. So had to wait for him to turn around
Then,
2) after all the previews, movie started. Won't spoil for those who haven't seen it, but the opening scene outside the house, the whole screen was blinking red and green all over, we had no idea it wasn't part of movie. They stopped the movie. Anyway, ushers came in and explained they were trying to fix it. After bout 15 minutes they did and movie restarted.
Then,
3) about an hour into the movie a fight broke out in the back rows between a mother and her 2 two kids (teens) and another party of teens. Funny they kept the movie going while the yelling and movie crew trying to get those people out and calmed down.
Afterwards staff handed out free ticket vouchers as we exited. I think crew did the best they could do with handling everything.
All in all, what I thought would be a fun afternoon/early evening movie turned out to be a heck of a day

All in all, what I thought would be a fun afternoon/early evening movie turned out to be a heck of a day When I went to the midnight screening of Dark Knight Rises the movie was delayed over an hour due to technical difficulties and I didn’t get comped a f***ing thing! Only time I’ve ever had issues at a multiplex theatre, had plenty of issues in small town single screens. And because of the delay I found out about the Aurora Shooting while sitting in a theatre waiting to watch the same damn movie, so made for a less then ideal viewing experience.

It's already up to having the fifth highest domestic gross of a Batman movie and it'll pass Joker and BvS within the week. Definitely not catching up to Dark Knight or Rises though.

Freaking awesome! Love the film noir take on it. Mixes Se7en with Batman. However, that's still not my RIDDLER!

How can you compare to something that has eleventy billion streams (unverified) in China?!

{Spoiler}Real 50/50 booking with the bad guy technically winning, but not really because Batman moved to being a real hero and not some asshole beating up everyone.

Yeah, I was “wait and see” in the theatre, but between the scene and the photos, I’m in. Digging this take on the smile.

First time I saw him act I was like “he’s genuinely unsettling” in demeanor and behavior. I copped the vid and..it’s ok. I love the delight he shows after the “ahead of the curve” line. Laugh could use some work.

I'm just really, really sick of the Joker.

This interpretation almost feels like what Leto Joker would have been like if he'd been done with actual competence.
It's not really my cup of tea (if we have to have a Joker in live action now I'd prefer the more fine dressed showman clown type) but I can respect the execution.

Can we just have a moratorium on The Joker, at this point? I think he may actually be more overexposed than Batman himself at this point. Also, this is literally just the Will/Hannibal meeting from Red Dragon.

If you're going to use the Joker again at least do something different with it.

I do appreciate that this Joker actually looks like he fell into a vat of chemical waste, and it didn't just conveniently dye his skin and hair.

Also, this is literally just the Will/Hannibal meeting from Red Dragon. I hope the success of the Riddler, which I feel has always been seen as one of Batman's weaker villains, gives studios more faith in using other Batman villains. With the focus on the crime families in Gotham, maybe Black Mask can finally get his due in the next movie.
