The way I’ve always seen it, is that if Vince is as all-powerful as we believe him to be, if he didn’t want Lynch to be pushed as she’s getting pushed right now with the character she’s got right now, she wouldn’t be. I mean, this wasn’t the first time that they’ve misread the crowd sentiment and done their own thing with a person and it won’t be the last, so what makes this one so special that they HAD to change course pretty much one promo in? Yeah, that’s what I’m wondering as well. It’s so crazy that they sort of backed off from having her go after the crowd but still go after the babyfaces. We need variety so goofy faces like R-Truth and Carmella are also needed, but they should use current Becky as the template for all of their serious faces going forward. I want to see them turn Joe now.

WWE have two templates for a face and heel.
Face: Wise cracking “comedian” who sucks up to the crowd at every opportunity.
Heel: “YOU people”, must always run away from a fight despite how much of a beast they are.
The reason wrestlers get over is because of their heel work. Elias is a prime example of this. You have him doing sing alongs and pandering to the crowd and it comes across as phony as shit. Nobody f***s with that dude. You have him play the delusional musician who insults the crowd in a witty matter? That’s the guy they wanna cheer for.
The Rock is another prime example. “Boots to Asses” and “How’s Your Lips?” wasn’t what got him over. It was the $500 shirts, the swag he used to carry round back in the late 90s. That’s what made him who he is today. You keep him as Rocky Maivia and you can kiss goodbye to his Hollywood career cause it ain’t ever happening.

If you trust the rumours, my suspicion is that Vince is actually (or at least became) a huge Becky supporter and that's part of why she's gotten the push she has, but fans struggle with this idea because it goes against the common smark "Vince can't do anything right" philosophy.
Also, Becky did a better job of explaining her heel turn on Gorilla Position around the same time (ironically enough given what's happened since she even claimed Ronda signed to WWE just because of her), but if fans aren't going to boo you, there's not really much you can do but be a cool enough heel to be loved, and she succeeded in spades.

The sooner that philosophy dies down, the better. Not that Vince hasn’t made some bone headed decisions, but, I highly doubt he makes most of the decisions due to having some unreasonable hatred for his talent lmao he just thinks he knows what he’s doing, tbh.
