I've been thinking about this for a while and I think some people have overlooked a major reason why the Raw Women's Title match needs to be triple threat.
BECAUSE CHARLOTTE CANNOT GIVE THIS UP!
You have to see things from Charlotte's point of view. (Just to be clear, I'm talking about the Charlotte character not the real person.)
Ever since Ronda Rousey debuted last year it seemed almost preordained that it would come down to Charlotte vs Ronda at WrestleMania. And that match has the potential to be the most important women's match of all time. A chance to add to her growing legend. A chance be the first wrestler to beat The Baddest Woman on the Planet. A once in a lifetime opportunity. Until Becky Lynch came along and took it.
Becky has taken a lot from Charlotte since Summerslam. Her title, her popularity, her standing in Women's wrestling, maybe even her sanity. And now Becky's taken Charlotte's chance at immortality.
So with that in mind why would Charlotte shrug her shoulders and be like "Oh well, thems the breaks. Guess I'll challenge Asuka." Charlotte doesn't care about Asuka. Charlotte's already beaten Askua. Charlotte has nothing to gain by fighting Askua.
In Charlotte's mind the only things that matter is finally defeating the woman (or THE MAN) who has vexed her every turn and making history by becoming the first wrestler to beat Ronda. Which is why she'll do anything to get that match at WrestleMania.
For her, it there's no other way it can end.

Becky got handed a golden ticket at Royal Rumble that she did not earn. It's so antithetical to her character, you kind of have to address it.
I want the three way, it is easily the most compelling option if we're looking at it from an outcome in doubt perspective (since no shit Becky will win the one on one, but people might buy that Charlotte will steal Becky's thunder, just like they thought Triple H would cost Bryan WM30 despite it being really obvious from a booking perspective he wouldn't), but if we don't get it, Becky vs Charlotte's happening again sometime, anyway, or Becky's character's underdog persona is in serious danger of getting exposed.

Nah. There's no reason for it besides Triple H wanting to suck up to Flair.

Okay, she can do all that but it still doesn't mean she needs to be added to the match. I'm all for more character development, and the idea that things can have longer term consequences in WWE lore. If she takes the idea of feeling shafted from what she perceives as her right to main event, it can make her a more engaging heel character. But if she gets added to the match... then it's the same tired old character cause she got what she wants, nothing changes.

No. The money match is Ronda vs Becky.

I truly believe as I said in a different thread that Charlotte is there primarily to take the pin. She’s the most capable of shrugging off the loss and it can be a receipt for her later for going out & doing business.

Nah. There's no reason for it besides Triple H wanting to suck up to Flair. Whether you agree or not, that's pretty dismissive and just plainly untrue. Charlotte has lost every encounter with Becky on PPV for how long? She has put her over clean for like 9 months or more. If he's sucking up to Flair, he isn't especially good at it. Like, you don't like her, and you're welcome to it. I'm not really that into Charlotte, either, but your material needs some updating. It hasn't been "All Charlotte, All The Time" for a long time now.

That’s why the triple threat doesn’t bother me whatsoever, because it makes sense from a character perspective.
Becky has been a thorn in her side since August. She took her title, her fans, her popularity, her spot, and now took her dream match with Ronda (that she thinks she can finally beat her at Mania.) She has no reason to just move on to Asuka. In her mind, all of Becky’s popularity should be hers. And she’ll do whatever it takes to defeat The Man and get the attention onto her.
And it isn’t even about being “Vince’s chosen one” either as she’s been handed ass whooping after ass whooping, L after L, and is clearly being turned heel thanks to Becky Lynch. The logical conclusion is to do the triple threat, have it close Mania, have all three tear the house down, and give Becky her moment by defeating two of the people that both sides despise (personally or not) on the same night.

Nah. There's no reason for it besides Triple H wanting to suck up to Flair. Triple H has no control over Charlotte, her placement on the card, her character, and the company as a whole. If you want to put that type of blame on someone, put it on Vince. And even then, I wouldn’t call handing your supposed chosen one L after L and have her get her ass whooped numerous times by the same person with little comeuppance “sucking up.”

It makes nothing but the utmost sense for Charlotte to be there and to care about going after them. A year ago, she was the queen. Since then, Ronda took her throne and Becky took her crown. The character motivations line up perfectly for her to care more about these two than anything else, and actually logical character motivations is what the show's writing needs more of.

Doesn’t matter if that suddenly starts with Charlotte, actual character motivation and tweaking is what’s been missing. Charlotte went from wanting her best friend back, to wanting to shut her mouth up, to wanting to be like her in hopes of gaining acceptance, and now taking credit for everything that’s happened to Becky. Not to mention her heel makeup and overall look looking straight out of a Disney film.

I have no idea how well this character will work when she's out of Becky's sphere, but for right now she's doing great work. I know for a lot of people, they're only here for Becky and the best way to sell it is explaining what Charlotte's presence brings to the stakes for Becky, and that's fair. But on a broader narrative level, Charlotte being there adds so much just by itself and for her that makes this story so much more interesting and complicated. One of the big complaints about Wrestlemania triple threat main events is that one of the people involved is just sort of "there". This time, miraculously, that isn't the case. Everyone lines up and makes total sense.

The one image I can easily see is Ronda down on the floor, laid out by the barricade, Charlotte and Becky staring eachother down while the crowd goes insane, knowing what limits those two will take one another to get to the top of Raw.

A Mania main event should be about the “A” story(Becky/Ronda), “B” stories(Charlotte’s) are for follow up PPVs.
This logic for adding Charlotte would’ve had Triple H in a 3way with Austin/Rock at 17 and I’ve never heard anybody make that case before. That’s because Triple H was a “B” story(or number 3) to Austin/Rock’s “A” story.

No Way Jose would probably kill a man for a world title shot too, but we're not gonna give him one.

Meanwhile, you’ve got three household names that are intertwined with one another and could easily steal the show and get the crowd buzzing.

Anyone predict Charlotte as guest referee yet?
I'll throw a George Washington on it.

You're being very generous with the "household names" tag there. You can argue one of the three is. One is currently very popular in the wrestling bubble. While the other is currently less popular that Alexa Bliss.

There's a lot of reasons why it should be a triple threat (it being a better match,a bigger win for Becky, Becky looks like a bigger underdog, Becky looks like a bigger badass, protects Ronda on the mic, ties up the Charlotte/Becky and Ronda/Charlotte stuff, bigger main event, helps both women brands and etc) but from a storyline perspective Charlotte's been beaten by Becky repeatedly since Becky beat her for the title. Charlotte, the one people dislike, has been constantly seeing Becky show her up repeatedly to the point where if anything her character's actually looking better. In the past Charlotte did whatever to anyone who crossed her regardless. She got pissed off at the slightly amount of disrespect. In this case? Charlotte's like "ok Becky did it, I'll just keep on going, keep on getting back the right way" and frankly that's character development. For all of the stuff Charlotte's done the fact that Becky's constantly doing this to her isn't going to stop Charlotte from just letting things happen naturally. SDL the other day for example, like, Becky started that. Charlotte retaliated. Besides that Becky was a heel for the majority of the end of last year from a storyline standpoint so Charlotte continuously coming back makes complete sense, Charlotte just ended up turning heel too because, well, "f*** it, I'm back on my bullshit now."
The main reason it needs to be a triple threat from a storyline perspective is that Charlotte's still tied up in the Ronda and Becky stuff and they need to get that out of the way. That's one thing people aren't addressing. Besides the fact that the company planned Charlotte/Ronda since WM last year (Asuka's streak was broken due to it), Charlotte/Ronda kicked off officially once they had their match which at the end Charlotte destroyed Ronda. Since then they've been wanting to go at each other. That's one thing that I don't think a lot of people are looking into much. I see people wanting it to be just because of the "Becky storyline" and that it's the "major WM single's match" and all that but the reality is there's a lot of other situations at play which override just those 2 areas. Yeah you don't like Charlotte but she's tied into these stories and we need to get them out of the way because unlike those who like Charlotte the majority of fans watching love seeing her programs whether it's to cheer her or boo her. We need to finish the Charlotte/Ronda stuff before Ronda leaves. Charlotte and Ronda won't be facing each other before WM due to how FastLane and Elimination Chamber are booked and as we've seen we're back into the Becky/Charlotte stuff as last night showed as of yesterday so you know where that's going. As post-Raw Meltzer said we're still getting the triple threat.
Last thing, man...the crowd won't care if it's a triple threat. The crowd cheers for Becky/Ronda right now. The crowd cheered for Charlotte/Becky last night as they always do. The crowd cheered for Charlotte/Ronda and after when Charlotte beat her ass. You mean to tell me there's suddenly going to be an outrage if it's a triple threat?
Nah, they'll love it and cheer and it'll be great. Some people online will dislike it but shit, there's more than that.
