"Ronda falls under the same category as Michael Jordan, she falls in the same category as Larry Bird, and LeBron, Kevin Duran, like, she is great! She suffers from the greatness hate. Brady has been to the Superbowl nine times, he's won five of nine. There's a lot of quarterbacks that never get to go to a Superbowl. Why would you ever hate somebody that was better than Joe Montana? Yeah, I said it! Brady was better than Joe Montana. And Ronda is getting the great hate, and we'll talk about that later, but I'm just saying, of course there's gonna be people that has animosity against her. Because she earned a level of respect that most of us will never see." "Ronda's getting the level of attention and the level of greatness that people will never ever see. Even the best won't see that kind of stuff because there's only a few Muhammad Ali's, there's only a few Michael Jordans, and there's a Ronda Rousey. And for somebody to hate that means they're, 1. jealous, 2. not understanding of what greatness looks like up close." www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/01/mark-henry-on-why-he-thinks-wwe-fans-are-turning-on-ronda-650427/

That might be third on the list of reasons at most, behind “Is feuding with Becky Lynch” and “Problematic real-life views and attitudes”.

1. Falling victim ot the Becky Lynch effect-as Becky’s popularity has skyrocketed, several other women have seen their own stock drop for it
2. While Rhonda has adapted well to the ring, she is still utter buttcheeks on the mic and has cut some cringeworthy promos
3. Rhonda has been way overpowered and pushed far too hard, far too fast-the Roman Reigns effect
And possibly
4. The recent rumor she may be done after WM, leading to a perception she has “sold out,” as has happened to others in the past

That might be third on the list of reasons at most, behind “Is feuding with Becky Lynch” and “Problematic real-life views and attitudes”. Very few people in WWE are actually going to get confronted over "problematic views" as long as the McMahons are around. Big Cass is the only recent full-timer who took locker room heat for such a thing, I think. So it's not surprising that Henry didn't bring that up.

I love Mark but his default position is the WWE is great and anybody who doesn't agree is wrong. Also, Brady's not better than Montana. Sorry like.

I imagine it's the stuttering promos and smarky crowds not being very forgiving.
The real life views don't check out when Brock, Bo and others get free passes.

I imagine it's the stuttering promos and smarky crowds not being very forgiving. The real life views don't check out when Brock, Bo and others get free passes. Brock gets a ton of dislike, he just usually isn't trudging up those comments with recent activity so they don't get brought up all the time. Same with AJ, who a lot of people just don't care for but to talk about would involve breaking forum rules, even when he spiked up recent activity and controversy with stuff we can't talk about. Bo's stuff more flies under the radar for being Bo Dallas and nobody caring enough to even know about it, and comparing anything he says in spread and knowledge to the actual headlines of "mainstream sports celebrity believes Sandy Hook was staged" that went around isn't really fair. There's an almost 100% chance that if you say anyone is getting a free pass for widely known terrible behaviors or bigotry, they are in fact very disliked for it, it's just not being brought up in that exact thread.

They boo because they've been making her more heelish, having her take on likeable faces, and Becky is next. When she was facing Nia Jax and Tamina, folk loved her. Deliberate cause and effect.
PS Pretty sure Big Mark is talking in 100% kayfabe terms above.

Rousey's not a victim of the Roman Reigns effect so much as she is of the Brock Lesnar effect.
She has been so dominant on Raw that the rest of the roster really doesn't have the credibility to defeat her. If MMA is so much better than pro wrestling, why are we tolerating it when MMA stars or former stars decide to slum it in pro wrestling? Are they not good enough for "real sports"? In Ronda's case, it's a resounding "No" - women's MMA has moved on without her and is arguably far better that it was when she was the best of arguably a bad lot. So why are we so bamboozled by an MMA star who steps in and is immediately considered better than 99% of the rest of the roster _solely_ on the basis that they were in MMA? Ronda is good at what she does, without question: but I would prefer to see her sell WWE and pro wrestling in general as something that is better than MMA in many ways. We are three days removed from a title match in which a pro wrestler, trained only in pro wrestling, went ten minutes punking out the most dominant MMA star in history, losing only because of a submission move resorted to out of desperation. MMAers can and need to sell the idea that what they have is sometimes not enough to win in pro wrestling.
If this cannot be done for whatever reason, then it follows that perhaps MMA should not be a trope used in pro wrestling - not mentioned at all, not accommodated in either ring gear or in the wrestling lexicon ("tapping out" is a trope taken from MMA) - just not acknowledged in any way or form. Get Ronda and other MMA-trained stars into more traditional pro wrestling garb; get rid of the MMA hairstyles; sell them as wrestlers. At minimum, however, don't bring them in to bury the craft any more than MMA seems to be doing already.

It's obvious to everyone that Jesus Christ himself would get booed if he was feuding with present-day Becky Lynch.
This has nothing to do with Rousey whatsoever.

Yeah, I'm loving her wwe run but it's not hard to see why people are booing her. She's having to face the hottest wrestler in the company and has been beating crowd favorites like Sasha and Bayley. Though, I wouldn't say they're booing her over her world views since I doubt it's casual knowledge but it's definitely another strike against her. Personally I don't think much of her outside the ring, same goes for AJ and Brock.

OK, now I'm in the weird position of not knowing what personal views Ronda has given or about what, but knowing not to ask because it would likely lock the thread.
Can I get a hint?

"Yeah, I said it! Brady was better than Joe Montana." I love how he says something that's become a general consensus like it's a bold statement. "Yeah, I said it! Michael Jordan was better than Kobe Bryant."

It's tough to compare Brady and Montana since Montana played in an NFL where people were actually allowed to play defense and occasionally hit a QB.
Fans turning on Ronda is the least shocking thing ever. After a point fans realize they brought her in from UFC and she's just beating everyone. It does get tiresome. She's been frankly miscast in the role of a smiling babyface anyway, especially given her weird promos that come off decidedly heelish.

I hate when people in the industry try to explain why those outside of the industry dislike someone. You don't know us fans.

They can't lift as many weights as Cena and they can't do as many armbars as Ronda. Jealous losers!
