For someone who is barely on TV until recently, Nikki got a great pop in the Rumble. I love Nikki so I am totally on board but I thought she would get dead air. Did I miss something?

Are we entirely sure the crowd didn't just read "Nikki" and think it was Nikki Bella? Because as entertaining as Nikki Cross is, she's hardly prominent enough to get a pop that big from a PPV audience.
Then again, some of the NXT women got noticeable pops too, so perhaps NXT has just crossed more into the mainstream now than many think.

The giant screen that the vast majority of the audience could see said NIKKI CROSS, and it's not like their themes, outfits, or general aesthetic even remotely look alike. |

It's possible some of them remembered her from the match with Becky and knew she'd be a ball of energy that would liven things up which she was.

For those curious if she can play different kind of characters then they should search some of her ICW stuff.
Totally different kind of mental and her leaving feud with Sammy Jayne was exceptional.
She really is extremely talented.

I watch so little WWE these days that prior to the Rumble, I'd never seen her before and I had no idea who she was, and she was still one of the few people in the womens' rumble who stood out and made an impression on me.
She's definitely got potential, IMO.

It's also a major PPV, the hardcore fans tend to go out and make a weekend of it, probably 99.9% of the crowd from Takeover were there for the Rumble, so NXT fans which gives her a bit of a boost right off the bat. |

I wasn't surprised as almost all PPV crowds are hardcore/smark fans who follow NXT. The IIconics got a good pop too and they either get crickets or go away heat when ever they are on Smackdown.

To be fair, they tend to talk on Smackdown. That's probably why they get go away heat.

Nikki Cross will be huge.
AS LONG as they keep her in SAnitY and give them a well deserved push... as heels. There’s no reason to not be using these guys. Dain is impressive as shit and Eric Young has the credibility. Plus they have an awesome look and entrance.
