ROUND ONE:
1919-1922-----Nosferatu 1923-1926-----The Phantom of the Opera 1927-1929-----The Man Who Laughs
1930-1932-----Frankenstein 1933-1934-----King Kong 1935-1936-----The Bride of Frankenstein 1937-1939-----Son of Frankenstein
1940-1941-----The Wolf Man 1942-1943-----Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man 1944-1945-----The Monster Maker 1946-1949-----House of Horrors/Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein (tie)
1950-1954-----Creature From the Black Lagoon
We go deeper into the 1950's will this poll, and cover the last multi year poll for a good while, as horror goes into overdrive in 1957, and pretty much produces tons of horror movies until the mid 90's (briefly, before Scream changes that). Anyways, this poll covers 1955-1956. Vote for your favorite, and, as always, explain your choice (if you like), as well as mention any other movies you might have seen on this list, below.
We will also accept Write in Votes (although, please mention it as such) for movies not included on the list I'm getting the choices off of. However, I will not remove any from the list (I can't by that point), so, if you want to make your case why a certain movie isn't a horror film, make it. Hell, you might end up swaying a few voters from going in that direction, but I can't/won't remove it from the list or DQ it.

Invasion of the body Snatchers for me, first time the Pod People got a film. Lots of symbolism in regard to world events are in this film as well. All in all it's fantastic and very creepy film. They're here already!! You're next!! ... It Came from Beneath the Sea should have got a mention, Ray Harryhausen stop motion with giant octopus wrecking San Francisco. ... Nice to see Rodan got on the Poll, that's a fun film.

I went with THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, where the poor ol' Gill-Man loses his gills and is now trapped on land. So sad.

Well, looks like Invasion of the Body Snatcher is going to take this one, which is cool, as it's the one I voted for. I will, however, mention that Night of the Hunter is a GREAT film, and I kind of hope for a tie for this poll. I'm amazed we didn't get a vote for Les Diaboliques, which is also a pretty great movie with great atmosphere. Ah well. I will also give mention to a lot of the fun B movies we have on this list: Creature With the Atom Brain, Tarantula, It Conquered the World, It Came From Beneath the Sea, Rodan, and the two Creature From the Black Lagoon sequels. All are fun, but not quite up to the standard to the films I mentioned above. Okay, little bit longer on 1955-1956, and then it's on to 1957 and a studio from Britain bursting on the scene in a major way.

Wow seen most of these. So many tied at second place...went with Night of the hunter. One of my top 5 films. Even now after seeing it many times, various parts of Night of the hunter get under my skin.
And a shout out for Quatermass Xperiment. More sci fi than horror. But still a really good film.
