I actually loved that WWE decided to try something new for once and actually gave us a new arena.
I'm so used to seeing the same stage and ramp at every single show that it made the Rumble seem like a big deal with the new setup.

Yeah, the live thread popped for it.

I think had it been any other PPV other than the Royal Rumble I would have liked it more.
The one PPV that is completely reliant on entrances just fell flat for me with the minimalist entrance.
That along with the shitty camerawork made for not as exciting "who's gonna be next" moments.
I like the way it looked, it was different, but the RR was the last PPV of the year that this should've been done at. Only seconded by WM.
Edit: Altho I will concede that it looked cool as hell when Becky walked out during the women's RR. It worked that time.

I thought it was dope. It stuck out compared to a great amount of regular entrances we've seen for a great while now completely because it was different.

The downside to this set up was that the live experience suffered a bit because not a whole lot of seats had any view of the dugouts, and with no ramp, it meant entrances were completely invisible.
Thankfully, they were nice enough to put Roode and Gable's entrance on the screen so everyone saw the cameraman fall on his ass.

I liked it because it was different and not the same set we see every week with only different graphics. It was more simple but looked good from a PPV viewing stand point. I can see the case about the live crowd though.

I liked that the dugout setup forced them to not use a titantron and you could see the audience behind the entrance.
Also, good use of those weird Augmented reality graphics instead of a tron for the them song graphics.

Like I said in the Royal Rumble thread, it's the best non-WrestleMania stage in years.

The stage was rubbish. I hate their over the top stages usually but this was a bit too minimalistic for my liking.

Best arena design in a long long time. I liked the curved entranceway, that they're no doubt gonna straighten for the game release... Cause we're in 2019... it's impossible to make game characters to walk or run through a curved path...

I loved it. Looked so fresh and interesting, really gave the show a sense of identity and freshness. WWE runs over 100 shows a year that look the exact f***ing same.

Also, good use of those weird Augmented reality graphics instead of a tron for the them song graphics. Yeah, I thought it was by far the best use of their AR graphics. Usually they feel really out of place, but with the minimalist entrance they really worked.

I liked it.
I wish they'd do more baseball stadiums. Go back to SkyDome, and Safeco, maybe run a show at Pac Bell (now Oracle), Yankee Stadium, or Kaufman.

My main issue with it was that the walkway seemed really long. Not the infamous Wrestlemania long one where they had golf carts but it was still pretty damn long. For a show like the Rumble they should have had a shorter walkway.
