BTW, I am curious about whether Chrysalis's, Cozy's and Tirek's involvement was known beforehand as well as Starswirl's appearance?
Because those were certainly the two things I found most awesome yesterday which I am glad for that I went into this without any spoilers.

King Sombra's voice....I don't know, I was not very fond of it. Sounded too goofy and foppish for me and it clashed a bit with his presentation as a serious threat in the last episode.
I'd like to think Jim Miller and his voice box would have done a better job.

Normally, I would question where they were when the second half was going down but if you paid attention, it made sense.
Discounting Twilight wanting to show that she and her friends got this, between them getting captured by King Sombra and them coving to Ponyville to see Spike getting mind-controlled, it would not have been possible to radio Cadance for assistance.

Have to say, the Starlight/Twilight friendship is really one of the most wonderful things in the later seasons. Although it was only a minor part in the first part, I just love how Glim-Glim is as close, if not even closer to her, than her five friends.
