I find "going Twilynanas" more adorable than "Twilighting" so that's what I am using for freaked-out Twilight now. Sorry, Lewisco.

Twilynanas is reserved for Shining Armor. Twilighting for everyone else. Well, I am sure he would not mind if a brony takes that as the preferred term. One small thing I really liked that was also in the "Best Gift Ever" special: Currently, whenever Twilight is going Twilynanas, Applejack calmly goes up to her with that expression between calm enjoyment and smugness and manages to calm her down. I just love her expression and it just furthers my headcanon that AJ is basically her second-in-command and the one who has technically known her the longest (well, being the first to exchange more than "Hello" and "*gasp*" with her). |

Finally saw the opener. Not gonna go into too much detail, but I thought it was good overall. Of course Twilight was just being Twilight upon the news of the Royal Sisters' retirement, and now there's even an associated term for those actions. Groger seems like an intimidating enough villain for the season arc. For a second there in part 1, it almost looked like Sombra's "defeat" would mean that there would be a team up in part 2, but thankfully it was just a fake out. Even though the elements were destroyed, it's not surprise that friendship was all that was needed to overcome in the end, since that's still the overall premise of the show.
Solid opener, and I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of the season.

Saw my first blind reaction to the opener by one of my go-to blind reactors, Masterrambo (whom I like because he blind reacts always to the stream, meaning I also get to see the commercials you react to). Definitely the most animated I ever saw him, giving it a 10/10. |
