With the suggestion by the UK Government that the lockdown could go into June, expect more cancellations/postponements to be announced in the next couple of weeks, in particular following the review date on April 13th. Schadenfreude & Friends is one to keep an eye on, as they have shows scheduled for April 21st and 22nd.

SOMEHOW... SchadenGraps 8 is "happening" in an empty Frog & Bucket. The "opening match" saw Aleah James "defeat" Millie McKenzie, which included James "doing a dive" to the outside with only Millie to catch her. S&F claim the show is happening... but y'know, government regulations and all that.
And "on right now" is Mad Kurt vs. Tyler Bate.

PROGRESS have announced that due to NXT UK Takeover Dublin, the Electric Ballroom show scheduled for October 25th has been moved to December, as Unboxing Live becomes a two day event for 2020!
Also, Camden Club PROGRESS members will have their memberships roll over to the first three Electric Ballroom shows of 2021 to make up for there being no shows in March, April and August (the August Ballroom show will be taken up by Super Strong Style 16 instead).

EVE posted last night that all scheduled shows are not happening up until a recommended date of October 4th by their ticket selling partner Eventbrite, but if live shows are able to take place before then, they will run them. Obviously tonight's show is not happening, and the No Man's Land show on May 8th and the 10th Anniversary Show on May 10th are not taking place on those dates.
In addition, if shows are able to take place by August, then EVE will increase the amount of shows so that all the dates that were on the season ticket for the Resistance Gallery will take place in 2020 (there are currently still 12 remaining, including the four SHE-1 shows). If they're not able to run by August, then any outstanding shows on the season ticket will be rolled over to the start of 2021.

On the 10th and 11th of April, OTT will be hosting its own streaming doubleheader hosted by former commentator Don Marnell where it'll showcase matches held in what was the home venue of the promotion for many years, Dublin's Tivoli Theatre.

Pro Wrestling SOUL have announced that all their remaining shows for 2020 have been postponed due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, given recent medical suggestions that could affect live events for a long time. Anyone with tickets for either their last scheduled show on March 27th or the next show on May 15th will have them honoured for whenever SOUL return.

Controversy has hit the UK scene even during this trying time;
As a result of winning the “Fun Wrestler World Cup” tournament run by “Wrestling Should Be Fun”, Los Federales Santos Jr was fired as a member of the Anti-Fun Police.
The Brothers of Obstruction, Sergeant SPLX Millie McKenzie and Lieutenant Gene Munny backed the decision by Chief Deputy Dunne, with Sergeant Travis Banks even accusing Santos Jr of being corrupt from the start.
A Twitter poll has been released by Santos in the hopes it’ll convince Dunne to change his decision.

These times have been difficult on the scene, much uncertainty still remains for months and possibly years to come.
But I have good news
SANTOS IS BACK WITH THE ANTI-FUN POLICE!

Charli Evans posted last night that she's flying back home to Australia this week as there is no wrestling in the UK because of the lockdown. The way Australia is going, there's a good chance wrestling returns there earlier, so she might get shows in while she's home. She'll return to the UK when wrestling resumes here.

Well, Britwres may have become cool again, but it's nice to see that when it comes to questionable business practices by promoters, some things haven't changed. Per the PWTorch:

The bigger issue is the money not filtering down to the boys and girls either in-ring or on the crew. I've heard stories of lower card guys only being paid their expenses for certain matches, so essentially no profit for putting themselves at risk. Even David Starr's called them out for not doing enough for the lower card talent.

You know something must be up then, because David Starr has said a few times that he genuinely liked working at Progress, and clarified to not be including them a few times when he brought up Indy Bullshit.

Yeah, there's a lot to dissect here. I've never paid too much attention to the idea of "punk rock" pro wrestling, but it did always present itself as having certain moral and ethical values. Now it emerges that they're not only paying a lot of their workers the bare minimum they can get away with, but stuffing their own pockets too. Now I assume they've found themselves in the shit financially and are asking fans for donations despite absolutely raking it in over the past few years. Other promoters have done the same, and I doubt the paydays are much different to most other indys, but the other promoters aren't paying themselves tens of thousands of pounds in dividends, and don't have the exposure or the WWE connections and money funneling down that Progress has. And it makes me angry that Triple H justified WWE's colonisation of the independent scene by shitting on independent promoters for stiffing talent on pay while climbing into bed with companies like Progress and Evolve who've done exactly that while making themselves rich.
In terms of dodgy dealings in Britwres it's relatively small fries compared to Gauntley/1PW or WrestleXpress or whatever, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I was turned off Progress by the stagnating booking, and then the disputes and severing of ties with talent that wasn't or refused to affiliate itself with WWE and the extent to which they began to kowtow to the bigger company, and my opinion of the company gets lower and lower. They didn't only want to give the impression of being ethical, but also of being hobbyists and fans doing it for the love of wrestling, but it's become abundantly clear that they're anything but. You expect it of some, but not of others, so to see them go this way is just really disappointing.

I can only imagine they don't f*** with David or his mates on this kind of thing given they aren't shy about talking about it.
