Probably shooting a mile off with this one, but it got me thinking; is it possible that the WWE acknowledging and announcing Dean’s departure is a possible CM Punk style work shoot? Could you see Dean, similar CM Punk style internet favourite, delivering his own, ugh, “pipe bomb” complaining about being forced to wear a gas mask to the ring?
Part of me hopes not, but if it keeps Ambrose in the company I’ll take anything at this point.
What do you think? Definitely leaving or possible “Summer of Ambrose” storyline, possibly with or without Kevin Nash?

Sure, losing to EC3 could be a point of no return for that theory though

To what end? He was beaten as decisively as possible by Seth, then embarrassed by Nia, then this week showed up suddenly acting face again and lost to EC3 in seconds, all with zero acknowledgement that he's leaving.

That’s also on top of the statement that WWE released that used Dean’s real name, which they normally only do for released talent.

Nah, I just think Dean wants to be the first big name to jump from WWE to AEW.

If WWE offered him full CC would he stay at this point?

possible? Yes but very unlikely.
I don't think WWE or Vince understands choosing leaving for artistic reasons creativity. They probably think choosing it over 7 figures is non realistic and not relatable

“You MADE me wear a gas mask. You MADE me lose to EC3.”
God I hope not. Those shoot promos are the worst.

This man lost clean to EC3 on a random Raw in a few minutes. The guy was an NXT midcarder and Ambrose lost clean to him. Yo, there's no waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy this is a work.

Considering the beautiful send off Goldberg and Lesnar got.....in 2004........I wouldn't put it passed WWE to think this was a great angle.

It's pro wrestling. There's always a possibility.

It could, but I doubt it, if this were during any other time of the year it could be a huge "Summer of Punk" storyline but I feel that since this is Wrestlemania season they don't want it to be a distraction from the biggest PPV of the year.

I sure as hell hope not. I'd rather they just write a good show than trying to work us for little actual gain or purpose.

Nah, I just think Dean wants to be the first big name to jump from WWE to AEW. Nah, I don't see that. Not everyone is going to jump onto AEW, nor should they. In Dean's case, maybe spending time off would do good, then suddenly appear unannounced. Not to go on a tangent, but the biggest mistake AEW could do is be WCW 3.0.

Have they ever worked their corporate release statements like that?

Well yeah, signing everyone who used to be in WWE isn't the way to go, but you are a foolish promoter if you don't go after Dean Ambrose when he's a free agent.
