Orton Jr was a quiet guy for the most part but once he got drunk, well it was a different story.
I believe that he choked out the cab driver while in a bender.

Maven told me a Bob Orton story. Orton used to ride with Juventud Guerrera. Orton got hammered and passed out. They tied him to the front of the car. They made sure he was secure and then they went speeding down the road. Orton eventually woke up screaming.

Was it Sr or Jr Bob Orton?
The article seems pretty old so maybe either Jr. when he was just coming up or maybe Sr.
Bob Orton Jr. is pretty quiet and reserved now but I can see a lot of guys in the 1980s doing something like that.
Was it ever revealed if Bob and Roddy Piper beating the guy on the streets of New York, while Gene was interviewing them, was part of the WrestleMania build up or actually an assault caught on film. I would imagine a lawsuit against WWF if it were a real assault but it appears so real which I guess speaks to the talent of all involved.

I have three weird Bob Orton Jr stories.
The first one was told by Bret Hart in his book. He and Roddy Piper were hanging out when they noticed a group of policemen in the hotel they were staying. Then out of nowhere, a naked Bob Orton Jr ran out of the elevator and jumped the police. Bob started to fight the cops, naked.
Terry Funk wrote in his book that one time in Japan a drunken Orton Jr just started body slamming Japanese fans in the streets.
In his rf shoot, Bad News Brown said that there was this important older yakuza, like their version of The Godfather that even the boys had to pay respect to. Well instead of shaking his hand when Orton Jr met him, Bob just kicked him in the nuts. Bob never returned to Japan.

Some sleuthing on the original post indicates the incident happened in mid-May of 1986 during his WWF run. This would have been while Piper was on hiatus and before Orton was paired with Adrian Adonis. www.newspapers.com/newspage/476102952/

Another Drunk Orton story. This was told by both Mike Graham and Jerry Gray, normally I would avoid anything Graham said because he was a carny but Gray has never been accused of being a liar so I believe it.
Anyway, the Florida locker room was hanging out in the bar, Dick Slater went to Orton and complained about him being stiff in the match, instead of apologizing, Orton cursed him out.
Mind you, Dick Slater is recognized as one of the toughest wrestlers ever and a legit psychopath, well Slater grabbed the drunken fool and threw him from one side of the bar to the other.
Bill Watts would fire any wrestler who would lose in a fight against a fan, well in a q&a several years later, Watts said that the only guy he ever fired because of that was Bob Orton Jr. Paul Orndorff also confirmed that story.
Seems like Randy’s dad was the town’s fool and drunk.

A major rent a car company, I think Hertz, temporarily banned the wrestlers from renting cars because Orton left one in the train tracks. Well the train destroyed the car.
