Figured this probably warranted its own thread.
Predictable but still a pretty big get for them, pretty much an immediate show of just how much they have behind them that they were able to contend with WWE's offer and presumably whatever NJPW was offering. Certainly some egg on WWE's face losing the first major bidding war like this.
I'm curious on the Jericho rematch. Not really something I'm dying to see so much but their last match was really good so I'm by no means opposed to it.

Seeing this roster expand with global talent and huge names is really great, I think even if they get zero WWE Talent, they're gonna be perfectly fine, even if I fully expect some names to go there.

I f***ing marked out, yo.
Also watching it live, it seemed to bump up the viewer count by a couple thousand when Kenny came out.
Can’t wait to get tickets on Monday.

Not just as a wrestler but he is an EVP like Cody, Matt and Nick, not sure how that works on the pyramid of power though.

Seemed like it was due to happen since his contract passed with NJPW and we haven’t heard news with him and WWE
Good for him and he’s in a executive position

Now, the question is: Will Kota be willing to test the waters of AEW to be with his friend, or is he going to give it some time?

Pretty sure he shows up in AEW in the not too distant future

I was under the impression this was a when rather than if.

If he shows up in AEW it's most likely for a spell and he leaves probably similar to way Jericho is doing his own business as well

I saw this on Twitter and I can't stop laughing at the idea even though I know it won't happen.
Imagine Orton lacing up his boots. Kenny walks in to talk about his scheduled match with him. "Ok, we're going 40 minutes and I figure we can trade some finishers before going to the finish."
Kenny keeps talking but Randy hasn't even looked up. A bit annoyed, Kenny asks Randy what he thinks. Finally, Orton looks up.
"14 minutes. With entrances. 1 RKO." And then walks away.

Yeah I could see him coming in for a feud with Kenny on how he abandoned him again, but Kota won't sign anywhere exclusively. Though who knows, AEW does offer him consistent work in America and now bookings in Mexico (AAA) and China (OWE) and with Pac/CIMA in it wouldn't shock me if Dragon Gate became a realistic option.

I'm surprised he's leaving Japan altogether since he became a naturalized Japanese citizen. And that's not something he did lightly. But a huge get for AEW and it keeps the Elite together (though I guess Marty will have to tag along later). Between this and their AAA partnership, everything's coming up Elite.
