See the thing I always loved about the Child's Play movies is they were hammy enough to make me laugh while having some scary shit too. Like Bride of Chucky is one of my favorite movies ever and I don't REALLY like horror movies much

All that's missing is a Gorgonite. This movie would be so much better with Phil Hartman. Every movie will be so much better with Phil Hartman

So...Chucky's a terminator now? Is that the vibe I'm getting from that trailer? Yeah, and I have a feeling the actual plot is going to be about who hacked the doll and their motives for doing it. In a twist it was Kurt Angle that hacked the doll

The most shocking thing about this is that Orion Pictures is apparently alive.

The most shocking thing about this is that Orion Pictures is apparently alive. According to Wikipedia, MGM ended it in 1999, then started using Orion again for tv in 2013, then a year later revived Orion Pictures. Even movie studios get rebooted nowadays.

The thing I’m having trouble believing is Aubrey Plaza playing a caring mother....
She will always be April Ludgate to me.
“Mum! the doll is killing people!”
“Really, that’s awesome!”

A few years ago, I remember being shocked that Gramercy Pictures rose from the dead. Though they haven't distributed films since the Ratchet & Clank movie.

They bring back the Viacom V of Doom??

They bring back the Viacom V of Doom?? Well Viacom does produce some shows again, and has a new (boring) logo. Orion's revival has them using the original 80s logo. Never mind it was updated in the 90s and was the same thing with better effects.

This is going to be the Jason X of the franchise.
Cant they just let Fiona Dourif be the main antagonist?

The new Andy is to old to be wanting a doll :/ That was my thought, too. Kids his age would want a phone or laptop, no?

It looks very generic. Which is a problem for a series like Child's Play. The concept is ridiculous, so it's weird to play it as straight as this trailer does. Also, yeah, I don't know why that kid would want that doll at his age in 2019(assuming this is set in present day). They should've got a younger kid.

The original series only got really good when it embraced how ridiculous it was ("Bride Of Chucky").
