So basically the writing is doo-doo, but it's totally not because we're stubborn and incompetent.

What do you expect Vince to say? "Ratings are down because we suck at writing and putting on a show that people want to see again".

"The unfortunate aspect of sometimes in our business, is that we... our performers are not cartoons. They get hurt. This year, leading up to where we are now, we've had an inornate number of injuries. And when you have injuries... you know, there's a whole bunch of them. Roman Reigns being the principle among them. And even John Cena, not an injury type thing but we thought we were going to have John be more of a part of our programming than we do. John, God bless him, is making more movies. And even John, I would think, would say, 'Geez, I thought I was going to spend more time with what I love to do,' which is WWE. So, he's been coming in and out, he's not really a part of out storyline. You lose John, you lose Roman Reigns." "In addition to that, we've had injuries... Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, who is one of our top female performers, was injured. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bray Wyatt, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Braun Strowman, Dean Ambrose, Ember Moon, Samoa Joe, Akam from a new tag team, Jason Jordan, Fandango, Big Show, Seth Rollins. It's like we... you had all these injuries, which is really unusual for us, and they're characters. It's no different if you're writing a soap opera and all of a sudden your main character wasn't there. You're in the middle of production, what do you do? You very nimbly change the storyline, but it's not as good as the original one. Sometimes it is better because we're pretty good at it, but those are things that we're faced with, and one of the reasons why television ratings have dropped." "And one of the reasons, obviously, from a live event standpoint, that's dropped too. Because if you don't have your favorites on television, obviously you can't see the at a live event either. We're wide open and Ronda's done an extraordinary job. There will be other individuals coming from different areas that will join us on a longterm basis, that will help us as well" Source: 4th Quarter 2018 earnings call Bullshit. Your booking is the same old shit week in and week out. Injuries have nothing to do with it you senile bastard.

Ok Vince, how about not having about 20 ppvs a year? How about not carting your talent off to Saudi Arabia when they could probably do with some downtime? How about a shorter European Tour? How about building up a wide and diverse roster that means your top guys can have some downtime, rather than panic your bag off when Roman is out and Cena is pulling another Dwayne Johnson on you?
Or better writing might help? Just a thought.

Well the source isnt the earnings call. That would imply that they share all the info on the earnings with their shareholders, which they dont since Saudi Arabia (highly illegal) .

I really can believe Vince genuinely thinks ratings/attendance problems in WWE today are due to Roman Reigns being gone. In part, they are, not inherently because of Roman, but because of the booking of Roman. When you make ONE DUDE a worldbeater on your show and make everyone else seem inferior to him, and only he can seemingly challenge yet another Worldbeater who has the belt and take it from him, you put yourself into a huge trap if that man were to get hurt or have something happen to him. It did, and what is your backup plan? By what WWE has shown, next to nothing new, and very haphazard bullshit. Give the belt BACK to the dude people have been screaming for about two years to get the belt off of IMMEDIATELY to make it seem like there's no break from this and no one else matters. Then guys aren't getting over because they've been pushed down for months and suddenly, SUDDENLY, they're supposed to be believed as threats. In wrestling yes that's easy to do with the right build, but for three years, easily, Roman Reigns was built as THE GUY in WWE, and everyone else was basically a rung below him, outside of Lesnar. Now you have Lesnar, an empty rung, and a bunch of other guys, and clearly show you have no backup plan for guys who could take over like Balor (Who gets a small push only to make Lesnar look good) or Strowman who for the life of everyone SHOULD be champion, should have won at Crown Jewel, but they just don't believe in him enough. You create a stagnant product where the champion is never there, when he is, he always kills the dude in front of him, and because you never spread your booking importance out, the only fallback now, is the friend of the dude who had to leave whose first act against the dominant champion was getting his ass handed to him so hard he couldn't show up the next week. You further insult the fans by saying "WE HEAR YOU" with the falling ratings and promise change, and proceed to follow that up by continuing to focus Baron Corbin, a proven ratings death in prominent TV fixtures, turning people actually liek cheering in Elias and Rusev heel for NO REASON in a heel heavy roster as it is, and add more tired authority figure storylines, a thing that was tiring in 2015, still being forced down peoples throats as the only way you can seemingly create conflict in the new year of 2019. It's not compelling television, it's a chore to watch, and people don't want to watch it. Vince has no one to blame but himself. You can blame the injury bug all you want, but the reality is, your stock investments are in a guy who can't be assed to be there 90 percent of the time and will throw the belt at you at Mania after a match, and someone who unfortunately has very big real life issues to now deal with. If you don't adapt to the times, then you get what you deserve, and he's getting it in spades.

Before the ratings were taking because People that were tired of Roman were leaving Now all that remained were people invested into the ONLY story /character you put into your show. And that is gone too.

Oh hey, awesome, sounds like a really good reason to restructure the way you handle your talent, so they're not putting so much wear and tear on their bodies! Like, you can just have it a part of people's contracts that they cycle through time off and time on, stop encouraging overwork by tying pay to merch sales, and strategically spread out house show duties to keep any given person from working too much in one week! Wait, you're... not going to do any of that? Um. Okay then. This raises a pretty good and absolutely demoralizing point/implication. Even if this is the real reason and/or they really believe it's the real reason, it's a shrug and a "f*** it". Nothing to be done about a steep decline over time in ratings due to an overworked and injury-prone roster, there's no fixing it, just let it be. Absolutely terrifying to think that there's just no consideration made to change things, Vince really is content and lazy enough to let this keep happening and change nothing about the pattern he's fallen into and the way he structures everything. It's just going to stay this way and nothing is going to change it, I guess.

The amount of bullshit said on the these Quarterly calls is too much. Not just in WWE all throughout the private sector. How anyone can believe the BS thats said. If the CEO of the company can't properly identify their own issues with a declining product, why would any shareholder invest?
When your business is down, 9 times out of 10 its management that is the root cause. Changes need to be made
And sorry but the amount of money you're paying Ronda, she isn't moving the ratings even an INCH
