WWE “Road to Wrestlemania”
Saturday February 9th, 2019
From the Tribute Community Center in Oshawa, Ontario
Natalya, Dana Brooke & Bayley vs. Mickie James, Alicia Fox & Nikki Cross
This match went on for what felt like forever. It was not a good opener to a show AT ALL. Dana Brooke worked a majority of it for the faces. "Eep".
Winners: Natalya, Dana Brooke & Bayley
Nia Jax and Tamina come out and beat up Bayley. They call their beating a preview of Elimination Chamber.
Dean Ambrose vs. EC3
This wasn’t too bad a match. But the outcome made me think the dirtsheets are right. I was surprised Dean was even there but coming out second and counting lights makes it seem like he is on his way out.
Winner: EC3
Dean Ambrose demands justice and says he’s going to sit in the ring until he gets it. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder come out and tell him he has around two hundred and fifty-nine more losses to go to compete with them. They try to do the Shield hand thing with them but he takes them out.
Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder vs. the Ascension
The crowd was nuclear hot for this match...
...
...no, no they were not.
Winners: the Ascension
2 on 1 Handicapped Match for IC belt
Bobby Lashley (Champion) & Lio Rush vs. Finn Balor
This was actually a pretty good match. The crowd was into it and it was the most I’ve been entertained by Lashley since…ever.
Winners: Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush
[intermission]
Elias comes out and is about to sing with No Way Jose but Drew McIntyre beats Jose up on his way to the ring and challenges Elias to a match.
Elias vs. Drew McIntyre
Elias wrestles!?!? This wasn’t that great. I was pretty far away and I could still see their moves not connecting from there.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
For the RAW Tag Team Championships
The Revival vs. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable (champions)
This was a really good wrestling match but this wasn’t the time or the place for it. The final stretch was really good.
Winners: Bobby Roode & Chad Gable
Oshawa Street Fight
Baron Corbin vs. Braun Strowman
This was a pretty slow and plodding match but it was at least an entertaining end to the show.
Winner: Braun Strowman

It was rough getting through this show. I’m an admitted WWE hater but I still tried to go in with an open mind for my kids sake. But I just don’t understand how a company with such a huge roster can still feel like the whole lot of them are nobodies. I guess investing the last four years on one guy who’s gone now is really biting them now. It doesn’t help that Seth Rollins got hurt last week and that Brock Lesnar is M.I.A. The WWE really needs to cut out two thirds of its roster and go back to one touring show because having shows like this can’t continue for much longer.
Another problem is the crowd they’re drawing now. I will admit that at times wrestling can be boring. And kids get bored really easily. I can watch the Revival and Bobby Roode and Chad Gable in a twenty minute match but this crowd, which was forty percent kids, is there for entrances and finishing moves. Everything in between may as well not happen.
I feel bad for these guys. They’re making money but they’re performing their craft in front of an audience that really doesn’t care. Some of the matches were really good to decent tonight and Drew McIntyre was really funny on the mic but overall it was a very flat, boring, hollow show.
I sensed genuine unhappiness coming from the ring; not only when Ambrose and the Revival were in there but from Roode, Gable, the Ascension and Lashley.
I got happiness from Balor. Corbin, Strowman.
Indifference from McIntyre, Hawkins, Ryder and Elias
Nothing from the girls, Rush or EC3
