The hell was that all about? It's just some random, completely meaningless six-man tag - and neither team is exactly the Shield to begin with so it's not like you're actually getting a match worth seeing - and it just drags on and on and on and on and on and on... and then ends in a cheap way, only for them to go, "LOL, just kidding!" and have it go even LONGER. What the hell was the purpose of that?

Because they really didn’t want to have to book No Way Jose v Mojo Rawley or something.

I'm guessing it was to gauge the reaction Finn (among others) would get. I think tonight they were quite focused on Finn - the segment with Becky (where he acquitted himself well, albeit with someone with whom he's expected to have a natural rapport), then a very long segment which included him in a singles match against McIntyre, then a beatdown thwarted by Angle, then revived by Corbin, then thwarted again by Strowman, _then_ the six-man tag match where, because of Strowman's injury and Angle's age and relative frailty, Finn was largely depended-upon to carry the match for his side. He got probably the biggest pops of the night (second only to Becky, if that) and the final pin was his (with the assist from Strowman.
I'm not quite sure what to read into all that, but it is possible that the Powers that Be may be comparing crowd reactions between Finn and Seth to determine if perhaps there is a way to swap their positions in the build to Wrestlemania. I can almost see Finn somehow not walk out Sunday with the I-C title only to get shoehorned into a Triple Threat with Seth and Lesnar or, if Seth's back is still questionable, putting Finn (as the Demon) in place of Seth against Lesnar. None of this is likely at all, but this all feels very much like September 1992 and they're having to choose between Randy Savage and Bret Hart to carry the title through some troubling waters. Seth's promo was extremely good - one of the best I've heard in years - but I'm not sure that it was enough to counter the limitations he had in that he couldn't wrestle tonight.

I mean, I'd be more interested in Finn vs Brock 2, than in Seth vs Brock. Even without much personality, I find Finn Balor a far more interesting wrestler than face Seth Rollins.

Didn't watch Raw, but I'd be surprised if you told me there *wasn't* a pointless six man tag that dragged on forever.

There was a point in the match. It was to show how Balor can work at a disadvantage since he's fighting Lashley & Rush in a Handicap Match at Elimination Chamber on Sunday. Everything on Raw had a point except for the Elias-Lucha House Party crap.

Having a six-man tag that dragged on for ages and had a Dusty finish for no reason was just wasting time.

And I think Raw is just so devoid of talent due to the Shakeup and injuries that they would have to fill the time with channel-changers.

Yeah, I rather watch a very long match with great wrestlers like Balor & McIntyre, then short matches with guys like Jinder Mahal & Mojo Rawley.
