Also I do appreciate that he didn't go for the low hanging fruit of invoking the name of a friend with god damn cancer (whether the cancer was the point again or not) for a story point. Good on him for refusing to do that and editing it out of his lines. Probably unsurprising considering that invoking Roman’s cancer for heel heat was possibly one of the reasons why Dean was so unsatisfied by his heel turn.

That was messed up.

That was messed up. I wonder if part of why he is leaving is that it affects his conscience he did something he was morally against. Feels like something that would me quit a job.

Only way we'll ever get a read on that is if he directly talks about it some day, but he doesn't seem the sort to wanna do interviews so we might have nothing but assumptions to go on ever.

The way it was set up I thought he was going to channel Roger Dorn from Major League, talking to Rick Vaughn before facing Clu Haywood.

It was more fitting the way he did it anyway.

I'm kinda glad he did it. If I have to listen to more meandering about Roman and his illness and whatever else, ugh. Especially when you have Seth going on about Mania possibly being his final match and sacrifices and everything.

It really is like they write Raw for first time watchers. Or for people with short attention spans There ARE plenty of those folks out there, in fairness.

These last few weeks of Ambrose are probably going to be the best Ambrose. Stupid WWE.

Ambrose not giving a f*** is fun. I kinda want him to go on a Terry Funk-esque tirade filled with bad language. “Vince! Your mother is a whore!” Jim Ross: Well technically is true, ol Vickie thought us a thing or two back in the day...

It really is like they write Raw for first time watchers. Or for people with short attention spans Speaking as someone with a short attention span, they’re f***ing terrible at that. What Ambrose DID was for people with short attention spans. Fifteen minute speeches full of pointless details and recaps written by failed television writers has the opposite effect.

If these last couple of months of Ambrose will include him going off-script WCW-style (only, you know, actually going off script) then he is going to backdoor his way into being the hottest thing in wrestling before he leaves. Maybe there's a bit more Pillman in him than I realised.

Didn't they go to commercials right after? How does that work? Are commercial breaks not scheduled?

The single line was vastly more effective than any speech ever would have been.

What an intriguing time to be a wrestling fan. If AEW ends up succeeding, what's to stop other upper-level talent from going "naw, this script sucks. I'ma do it my way", knowing that there's a viable American alternative if management decides to bury them. Damn I hope AEW works out.
I know Ambrose didn't say he was going to AEW. Just something that popped into my head.

The single line was vastly more effective than any speech ever would have been. This makes no sense to WWE 'Creative'. How can one line be better than four minutes of stilted, meandering repetition of tired talking points and worn out phrases?
