The single line was vastly more effective than any speech ever would have been. Itâs why the best Roman Reigns promo ever was the one where he didnât say anything for ages and then said âThis is my yard nowâ. Like...he didnât need to say anything else, it was f***ing perfect... Until the f***ing announcers ruined it with the âEVERYTHINGâS BIZZARO LAND TONIGHTâ stuff.

This pretty much explains everything about why his long monologue promos when he first turned heel were so f***ing horrible

So of course WWE tried to turn it on the fans instead of catapult Roman to actual heel superstardom.

Iâm still f***ing bitter about it to be honest because it was utterly perfect and putting the whole thing down to the âWrestleMania crowdâ, the crowd that you promoted fans to be more like for years with Slammy wins utterly killed it in the same breath. You had a moment. Run with it. See what you get from it.

I doubt we will see Dean with an open mic again before April.

I doubt we will see Dean with an open mic again before April. I want Ambrose to cut a final promo before he leaves just because he f***ing can. Actually I won't be surprised to have the company give Ambrose a curtain call exit and just upload it online or something.

The single line was vastly more effective than any speech ever would have been. Quality over quantity, something that the WWE has forgotten.

Might as well if youâre Dean. Yes, he got the win over EC3, but they decided not to put his finisher over & have him win via small package. Not sure thatâs how Dean Ambrose should be going over.
The guy is a natural heel that the fans decided they loved. The heel turn is 3 years too late & theyâve neutered him at every opportunity.
Start doing the promos in Spanish if you speak it Dean...

It really is like they write Raw for first time watchers. Or for people with short attention spans I think a big part of it is for the new or casual fan. Similar stuff sometimes happens in long running comics. Marvel has gotten better with quick recaps on the first page but I remember there was a period where every freaking X-men issue would remind us that Psylocke's telekinesis was powerful enough to level a mountain. It was made even worse because I was reading a collection so I'd literally been reminded of it five minutes earlier. There are better ways to get people up to speed though and Dean did the right thing here.

If the promo was still going to end with the pseudo-babyface comments to Rollins regardless, then I can only assume that what he was meant to say about Reigns probably wasnât going to be that bad, at least in comparison to what he has said before.
Unless they REALLY thought that he could go from âCANCER LOLâ to âGo get âem, sluggerâ in a matter of minutes. I know WWE love a mood whiplash, but thatâs another level.

I could see the promo being something like "Roman and I have both faced Lesnar at Mania and we both came up short. I know the kind of fighter you are and I know you can do what we couldn't. Slay the Beast" or something like that.
