Aka about to leave and don’t give a f***, and it ends up glorious.
There’s Batista himself who gave us Douchetista We now have dean Ambrose
Remember JBL’s first run and how it was awesome because he wouldn’t let Vince McMahon tell him what to say.
Rise of cm Punk was awesome because he really was considering bouncing after money in the Bank.
I’m pretty sure there are others because I’ve had this thought before but names aren’t coming to mind. Who else do you remember just being awesome on the way out?

Not really the same, but since Taker is most likely almost done if not totally done in the ring, he's been out of character way more than he's been in years. Hanging out at Post Malone shows, posting on social media. I never expected it from him and it's awesome.
On a more negative example, you can tell Steve Austin in 2002 was burnt out and pretty much done. He wasn't going out being Batista or anything, but you can tell he was kinda spinning his wheels after a crazy good in-ring year in 2001.
I'm pondering about CM Punk in late 2013 openly laughing at Triple H on screen, but that totally may have been in character.
Currently Dean overselling and going off script is really interesting and kinda entertaining albeit sad since I don't wanna see him go.
Edit: now that I think of it, I think CM Punk kinda spent the second half of his career in this mode. He pretty much said whatever he wanted and if they didn't like it he'd just go somewhere else or go home.

People bemoan Austin’s 2001 for the heel turn but it actually provides so much good stuff. 2002 was so surprisingly shit from him. He was just done.

Austin was unbelievably stale from the second they hit the rest button after Survivor Series 2001. He was just the biggest babyface in wrestling, sat there with nothing to do. He was still very over, but there wasn't really anything left for him to do.

Everyone in Batista mode should learn to bounce off the ropes like he did:
