Regal is not from the Snake Pit, he’s no hooker, he’s still tough though. You could learn how to really fight in the PC, except from Shawn Michaels, his record is 0-infinite. Yeah, insofar as I know, most of the branches of the Lancashire catch tree are in Japan, now. Suzuki, Sakuraba, etc. The only guy in the states that I can think of that comes with legit Snakepit training is Josh Barnett, and he'd be hell on a WWE wellness policy. When he’s not cheating, which is most of the time, Barnett is a great fighter. But a shit pro wrestler. It still pisses me off that he took it upon himself to disrupt that Jay White match. Shit happens Josh, Jay didn’t hurt JR on purpose when they did that spot. It was the production people’s fault not Jay.

Used to be a fan just because I love submission wrestling, but dude is a tool. But just in terms of the legit Snakepit catch style, he's pretty much the only one stateside I can think of, although I'm sure there's someone else out there. Actually, I just looked it up. NUNZIO. No, really. Nunzio was trained by Billy Robinson in the Snakepit style. So add Nunzio to the unassuming tough guy list, I'm guessing. Speaking of the Snakepit, since you get a kick of delusional Verne Gagne as much as I do, do you ever think Verne thought he could take Billy in a shoot in his days with the AWA?

It makes me wonder how tough Kane is. I think he's very tough. A while back there was that story if him knocking out a UFC heavyweight in a fight. Kane comfirmed himself that story was fabricated bullshit (it was about Tim Sylvia btw). He is of course very big and strong and while that's not exactly a disadvantage, it doesn't automatically translate into fighting skills.

Karl Gotch trained him. Yes that Karl Gotch. Its the nice and non assuming guys who don’t brag that you don’t mess with. It makes me wonder how tough Kane is. The man used to be able to dead lift Big Show.

Funny enough, Kane wrestled for Pro Wrestling Fujiwarwa-Gumi, a shoot style promotion.

Kind of surprised Norman hasn’t shown up as a gag Royal Rumble entrant. Even if a lot of fans didn’t know who he is once he broke out the big wiggle he’d be over huge.

I once saw Norman Smiley stare down the entire Russian Army and win when he put a Tank in a cross face chicken wing submission

I mark for Norman Smiley. What a weird, weird motherf***er he was in the ring.

Brock changed because he was a bully in OVW. Learn something new every day. What chilled him out? Vince threatening his paycheck? There might have been more incidents than just this one, but this one comes from a Jim Cornette podcast.
Synn - Cornette's then-girlfriend now-wife - had just had a genital piercing done so she was very sensitive 'down there'. She was going to get press slammed by Brock, and Brock spent the afternoon threatening that he was going to squeeze for real. When the spot happened, he actually did. Synn was crying and cussing him in the locker room, Brock's attitude was "I didn't mean to, get over it" and at one point he cussed her back. So Cornette explained that nobody in the business was going to fight Brock, but if Brock pushed too hard someone was going to shoot him, and that hurting someone's woman was exactly the sort of thing that would get him shot. Brock ran to Danny Davis and complained, but Danny backed up Cornette.
There was also a story from a few years later where Kenny Bolin kissed Sable as part of his kayfabe gimmick, but Brock got legit pissed and started pushing Bolin around. Bolin's son ran and got Sylvester Terkay, who might've been terrible in the ring but was one of very few people who could've stood up to Lesnar. When Terkay came to Bolin's defense Brock turned around and left.
