During one of his 5-minute face turns, he teamed with Rick Steiner against Scott Steiner and someone else, immediately turned on Rick and left the match, leaving Rick on his own. Then toward the end, "Clinton" made a run-in save for Scott and unmasked to reveal...Buff Bagwell. So he turned heel at the start of the match, and came back in disguise the same match to turn on him again? Didn’t Nash have the book at this point? The only part that I liked from it is that Rick still managed to overcome the odds and win the match.

This is now my second favourite what-could-have-been from WCW. The first being Mike Tenay as the mastermind behind a Martian invasion.

Honestly, it could go either way that this is 100% worked bullshit, or the complete truth. I could easily believe either one.
I am, however, stunned and amazed that this was a Bischoff pitch, and not a Russo one.

I 100% believe this is true.
And if Buff's working, frankly, that's on the WCW people for being that easy to rip the piss out of.

I can't even remember the angle they actually did do that he mentions with him doing a run in wearing a Clinton mask. I'd ask why, but I know the answer I'm gonna get is just "Because it was WCW" isn't it?

No way this is true. Bischoff didn't even work for WCW in late 2000. He worked in tandem with Vince Russo in early 2000, so if this was indeed pitched then it was more likely a Russo idea and Buff is just misremembering.
Honestly this sounds way more like a Russo or even Vince McMahon idea than it does a Bischoff idea.

After listening to the 83 Weeks podcast for about a year, I'm amazed that Eric Bischoff had another terrible idea that was beyond "nWo Nitro versus WCW Thunder was going to save the company."

This is now my second favourite what-could-have-been from WCW. The first being Mike Tenay as the mastermind behind a Martian invasion. I love how Disco Inferno was literally the only person who thought it was a good idea and he'd put his heart and soul into drawing up several diagrams of his crazy idea.

I don't even care if this is bullshit because I'm going to pretend it's 100% real
