"Guys, now that we've convinced Buff to do this we'll forget to call him when it's time to bring him back okay?"

The fact that we never saw a coffin with that ridiculous hat on it is some bullshit. Have some character angrily crush it, then turn to find it re-extended.

would be worth it if we got to see Buff in the mirror a la Warrior where Eric Bischoff can't see him, also have Buffy doing the Buff strut at the same time

I can't even remember the angle they actually did do that he mentions with him doing a run in wearing a Clinton mask. During one of his 5-minute face turns, he teamed with Rick Steiner against Scott Steiner and someone else, immediately turned on Rick and left the match, leaving Rick on his own. Then toward the end, "Clinton" made a run-in save for Scott and unmasked to reveal...Buff Bagwell.

And you're telling me that this wasn't a Russo idea?!?! Smells like a Disco Inferno original to me. Yea. If there is one man who can out-insane Russo in a wrestling storyline, it's Disco.

I'm convinced that Bischoff was just so pissed off at Buff that he told him he wished he died in a plane crash.

I can't even remember the angle they actually did do that he mentions with him doing a run in wearing a Clinton mask. The Clinton mask thing did actually happen at the 1998 Halloween Havoc, but that doesn't mesh with the timeline Buff suggests.

Judging by the timing, this would have been in 1998. Meaning he'd have been haunting the Steiners, just weeks after the infamous Rick/Chuckie segment. And right before his mom won the Tag Titles. If it meant neither of those would have happened, then damn Bischoff for not following through!

I want to say he meant the last one with Bischoff, which was 98.

Bischoff mentioned this in one of his '83 Weeks' podcast. If I remember correctly Bischoff was going to be killed in the same plane crash and both would come back as ghost.

Just imagine if this led to Scott Steiner performing a ritual to bring Buff back to life. God, we missed out on such greatness.

So he turned heel at the start of the match, and came back in disguise the same match to turn on him again? Didn’t Nash have the book at this point?

Doubt it. Someone probably just told him to drop dead and this is how his mind processed it.
