I mean, yeah, Bryan v babyface Owens sounds great. Bryan v babyface Zayn sounds great. Hell, I'm curious at how heel Bryan v babyface Wyatt would go down, especially since this would be a first proper face singles run for Wyatt. But with Kingston... well, they didn't catch lightning in a bottle so much as lightning happened to strike into an empty bottle and a bottle cap spontaneously fell onto it. Then emptied it and got mad at the lightning for ruining their bottle. Well, of course, Vince apparently hates what he can't control (which is the root issue of the sneezing thing). He can't control lightning... yet. I wouldn't put it past the crazy bastard to be slaving away in a laboratory trying to nut it out, along with his cloning machine. |

I think the worst option on the table is Wyatt because I can see absolutely zero reason for it. Guy's been gone nearly a year and when he left he was in that awful team with Matt Hardy in matches no one cared about, and before that was their horrendous feud and before that was that awful Balor feud and before that was the awful Rollins one. It's probably been a solid two years since anyone at all cared about him.
Not that that should disqualify him from a push for forever or anything, but throwing him immediately into a prominent Mania match would just be a blatant, "We're doing this because the office likes him, no other reason," move because he's done jack shit to warrant it and has the exact opposite of momentum.

About these plans:
I think that Kevin Owens as a face sounds good, and a feud with Bryan could probably be fun, but there is not nearly enough time to build that for 'Mania in a way that's not a total rush job. Kofi has much more meat on him for right now. Hell, I'd be fine with him not winning the title if he still gets to compete for it, though I think he ought to win. Bryan can keep his belt, since it'd be weird if Kofi went around wearing it, and Owens could then feud with the delusional Bryan.
Unless they're just having Undertaker chokeslam a guy, The possibility exists that maybe Undertaker may be in better shape now than the Crown Jewel embarrassment, but I don't think it'd be nearly enough to be passable.
Asuka could probably get something decent out of Lacey, but that sounds like a really mediocre 'Mania match.

I heard Meltzer say that Lacey was getting a mega-push so this Asuka match isn't a surprise. Lacey just sucks. What's crazy is that these days Vince cares more about introducing newer stars and grabbing people off the bench and throw them into WM matches rather than building up those he has now. That's counterproductive.

They're going to turn whoever isn't Kofi into a heel if they face Bryan. That's going to be so ridiculously, wow. Man, I pray they change this up. I get the feeling that Vince doesn't understand that concept at all. Even after possibly the single most glaring example of such a thing happening (hi there, Rey Mysterio) a few years back, I don't think he understands someone getting temporarily shit on for being the wrong person at the wrong time. I mean, I'm usually not as hard on Vince as a lot of others here are, but even for me, the thing that first comes to mind when I think of Vince: VINCE : "I give the people what they want!" It's WWE, and 'Mania is Vince's baby, so I expect all of this to change 3-4 more times, if this was even solid info to begin with. No kidding. This is a guy who is often still writing a show as it's going live to air. Bryan could end up fighting Eric Bugenhagen for all we know. Hell, I think at this point I'd take a 10 minute Air Band from Bugenhagen over Taker being dragged out of mothballs one more time. |

Yeah I like the options for Bryan as contenders, could be fun feuds down the road, but not for Mania. They lucked into Kofi with Ali's injury and almost everyone - fans and wrestlers want this for him now he's been given the chance to show he belongs in the main event mix.

But this Bryan/Kofi thing is something that'll be the biggest shot to the whole "yeah we're listening to you guys" thing.

Start now, book her to go unbeaten til Rumble 2020. If she's ready and over as a heel, then have Lacey win the Rumble and go onto face Asuka next year at Mania. Lacey can claim she's undefeated and Asuka's not. The girl has potential, but you'd be stunting her by giving he the belt right now.

Alexa's basically an inch taller than Judy Hopps. I don't think her height has had anything to do with why she would or would not be pushed.

They're screwed with the WWE title match no matter what they do. Go with Kofi and blow up plans from now until sometime post-Mania for 3 or 4 guys or stuck with what they've got planned and lose what they've lucked into with Kofi.
I really want to see Wyatt or Owens get a real run with the title, and for Owens to do start it at WM would be awesome, but them every never get going with the way stuff is now.
