SmackDown and 205 Live are at the SMOOTHIE KING CENTER in New Orleans tonight, as the host city of last year's WrestleMania is the latest stop on the road to this year's edition.
Kofi Kingston came super close to dethroning The New Daniel Bryan and becoming the WWE Champion inside the Elimination Chamber, but a missed splash off the pod put paid to his effort. Nevertheless, the New Day member earned tonnes of plaudits for his performance, and calls for him to be the challenger for the title in New York/New Jersey on April 7th, but how will he respond tonight?
Meanwhile, we will find out who Daniel Bryan's challenger at Fastlane will be this evening. It has not been announced how this will be determined, but no doubt everyone in the Chamber, including Kingston, and even those who weren't in there, will want to grab the last opportunity to be in a major WrestleMania match.
Charlotte Flair was twice the target of attacks by the suspended Becky Lynch last weekend, and well she successfully fended off one of them. The Queen wasn't so lucky at Elimination Chamber, as the Black and Yellow clad Man came around and beat the holy hell out of her with her crutch. Charlotte might be relieved that Triple H has now threatened Lynch with arrest if she pulls off a similar stunt, so how will Flair react tonight?
The Co-Besties reign as SmackDown Tag Team Champions lasted all of a few weeks, as The Miz and Shane McMahon lost the titles to the Usos, right after Miz dedicated the match to his unborn second child. The Miz got irate with himself over the loss, but has vowed to apologise to Shane tonight - how well will that go?
We're still waiting for the previous crop of NXT callups to be assigned to brands, and now there's more, as Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black and Ricochet debuted on RAW last night. Will four of NXT's biggest stars make their way to SmackDown as well?
All this and plenty more from 8/7c on USA! Then head over to the WWE Network at 10/9c for 205 Live - can ANYONE step up to Buddy Murphy?
