One of the things that kills me about WWE and why I barely watch anymore, is that they never go with the hot hand. They’re always gun shy and miss the moment when a dude is hot. That’s nothing new in WWE. But nowadays, we live in the social media/viral world. Attention spans are lower and more content is available than ever to grab attention.
I just wish WWE would capitalize more on situations. You want to boost ratings? It isn’t about doing one time stunts like the NXT call ups, it’s about going with whatever the Fans think is hot and letting that go viral on the net.
Fans like Strowman and want the belt on him. Ok cool put it on randomly and let that go viral. Nope. Fans like Kofi and want the belt on him. Ok cool put it on him and let that go viral. Nope.
Of course listening to the fans is nothing new and sometimes the fans are wrong. But I guarantee if WWE would just listen sometimes that ratings would go up even if the shows themselves are still trash. Raw has kinda always been hit or miss but they use to give us fans a bone to always keep us invested. WWE doesn’t even do that anymore and you see why can apathy has never been higher for the product.

Vince thinks he knows better than the fans and that his chosens stories will bring all the casual fans back.

To be fair it seems like they are riding the Kofi wave. They have time to build him up more. If he just loses straight up at Fastlane and doesn't get his chance at Mania and Bryan just faces Orton or something then you can say they blew it.

I mean, when they do try to capitalize it results things like senior citizen, Jerry Lawler telling us how cool "Fandango-ing" was...

Vince probably points back to riding the wave with RVD & him getting arrested. Riding the wave with Daniel Bryan & him getting injured. Etc etc. He likely believes that anything unplanned has a ton more inherent risk than following his plans.

Vince thinks he's a great booker and he NEVER has been. His only success in this area has been when he got out of the way and rode the waves of Hulkamania and Austin 3:16.

That kind of stupid way to look at it because it's not like any of HIS guys never had set backs. Look at Reigns situation. As sad it was to see, still he was the guy Vince wanted. The fact he pushing Bryan now makes that thought odd. The problem is taking risks is what you do and you push the hot hand. When Braun was hot they should went with it. You will never know who that big star that Hogan, Austin, Rock, and Cena are if you don't listen to the fans reactions. All those guys I just name happened with fans at some point went ape shit for them and came naturally. I'm not saying Kofi will be an Austin in a draw but he earned it and for WWE standards Kofi been pretty reliable. Vince needs to notice how lower the ratings our and less people are watching. Maybe giving more what the fans want will start turning that around. Sticking to his plans when it not working just silly and if the unplans stuff doesn't work, I doubt it harm any worst this it's been.

I don’t disagree with a word you say, but Vince is the guy who derailed Mark Henry’s Hall of Pain run due to an ankle injury. Vince probably calls Roman every day to ask when he’ll be back.

Because WWE/Vince has this idea that they know what the fans want more than that fans know what they want. I'm not saying play into the fan's hand all the time because you need to build heels to make compelling stories, but don't yoyo your fans to the point that they say "screw this" and leave the product.
