www.dailymotion.com/video/x2zw3n3Basically, this match happened because of what happened during a Raw in June I think where Doink at first beat Marty Jannette in a 2 out of 3 falls match with the help of the second Doink replacing him. Randy comes into the ring and tries to tell the dumb baby face referee (Earl Hebner) that there were two Doinks. He pulls Doink off the rope as Doink was celebrating and pulls the second Doink out from underneath the ring (yeah, I guess you can say as far as him attacking Doink goes, he was sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. He did do the right thing by telling Earl what happened. On a side note, how did Earl not notice the fact that the second Doink had his face almost completely covered in makeup whereas the other Doinks makeup was almost gone due to sweat?) So the match happens and Randy says before the match that he has a surprise for Doink. At the end, Randy goes underneath the ring (just like Doink used to do to pull off his own version of twin magic) and from the opposite side of the ring is a Macho Midget. Doink gets distracted which allows Randy to surprise him with a decisive victory. Yes, this was one of those rare times that a face outsmarted the heel. Vince: “Doink was outdoinked.” Got to love that this was one of the rare times back than that Doink lost and was ticked off. This was the beginning of the end of Doinks push I guess. Also, if you look at the arena, you can tell that WWE’s business back than was in the toilet. Look how small that arena is.

Another thing I can recite to this day: "When it does happen, and next week would be fine with me, you're not gonna be seeing double vision, you're gonna be seeing TRIPLE VISION!"
(Disappointed we didn't get a Doink #3 that match...)

This was the beginning of the end of Doinks push I guess. Kind of. He got a pretty high profile SummerSlam match (as a faux replacement for Lawler) with Bret, at least, but I think Matt Borne saw the writing on the wall during the summer months; and when they started making Doink face in the early fall, he bailed....or...something along those lines; I suspect there were other factors regarding his departure. Yeah, RAW was really hurting in a visual sense when they left the Manhattan Center. They were mainly sticking to locations along the Hudson in New York, so they wouldn't have to travel far on Mondays. But they picked a lot of small places and it showed. (In particular, I recall a bunch of shows from a place where they had a row of windows up along the top of the arena walls at the ceiling line, and that always reminded me of my high school gym.)

I always felt Crush never had a real blow off with Doink, they had a match on Superstars that ended in a DQ then that Monday Yoko injured Crush and he was out of action so I feel Randy kinda stepped in and had Crush's blow off match with Doink

I haven’t seen it since 1993 but I’m sure they pulled off 3 Doinks during a Doink vs. Perfect match. One Doink in the ring, one under and one on the street doing a promo.
Of course it was an illusion.

Bryan has the match. Doink #2 comes out only to be stopped by a debuting Brian Clark (Kronik before Kronik in a way). Doink notices this and now notices that his goose is cooked which allows Bryan Adams to win. The announcers don’t know who the other wrestler who helped Adams out is. Bryan than explains that he concocted a plan to bring in his friend named Carnage to the WWE and one of the reasons was to get even with Doink. Basically doing something similar to what Savage did which was a rare case of the face outsmarting the heel in the end.

Bourne was actually fired after Bam Bam Bigelow, whom Bourne was in a program with at the time, stooged him out to Vince for smoking weed. Shortly after Bigelow recommended unknown Ray Apollo who was a friend of his to take Bourne's spot as Doink. I think you can put two and two together.

I'd have thought in New York there'd be a few places with interesting interiors they could run to kind of cover the low crowds. The Manhattan Centre might have been small but it looked cool inside.

Funny part is, the Macho Mini was the future Dink. Tiger Jackson, same guy.
