I’m just here for the inevitable moment when Becky posts a gif of Ronda getting the hell beat out of her by Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. Speaking of which I watched the Nunes fight again the other day and she had ZERO respect for Rousey in that thing, she just plowed forward and threw bomb after bomb. lol Surely having respect for your opponent would be the opposite of helpful in a combat sport? It's not a personal respect--which fighters often do have and show for each other once the fight is over--so much as a lack of respect for Rondas as a fighter. Nunes didn't even try to look at Ronda like she was a threat, didn't take her offense seriously or keep her distance. She stayed on Ronda punching her in the face over and over until she went down, not even trying to play defensive or act like Ronda could do anything to her. And it won her the match, but it shows that she wasn't even entertaining the idea she could lose and that Ronda could do shit to her, and that is disrespect in a much more potent kind of way.

This whole social media war is cringeworthy to say the least, but how many of the fans are really paying attention? I have no clue what happens on a wrestler’s social media pages unless someone makes a thread about it here. Does your average Raw viewer or Network Subscriber even know and/or care about any of this stuff to the point where it could become a problem for either of them?

Becky has 1.5 million followers, Ronda has 3.5 million. A lot of people are seeing this, yes. If anything, your use of a forum is a lot of why you don't necessarily need to keep up with the goings on on social media the way a lot of other fans do, but it is genuinely a huge deal with broader reach to its fanbase than anything going on over here.

And here's that tweet from Rollins calling Lesnar a ho last night These wrestlers are going wild on social media lol. Yeah, I'm done defending Ronda. There are things I like about her as a performer but god damn those are some terrible tweets. This company hired you to bring a sense of believability to their women's division, and you break Rule #1 of the business, also while posting some incredibly offensive transphobic shit. I know her and Heyman want the feud to feel gritty and real, but Ronda's persona now just isn't much fun. Like, a lot of the women's division is eccentric and fun. Charlotte's the privileged and cocky queen, Asuka's a colorful wildwoman, Becky's a shit-talking ass kicker, Naomi's a fun and funky high flyer, Nikki Cross is a new generation Bushwacker, even Nia Jax has her moments as an arrogant monster. But Ronda just looks grumpy all the time. There's a line between being a serious badass and how flustered/thin-skinned she comes off in interviews and social media. You know, I was curious so I went back and looked through those Becky/Ronda/Charlotte threads that have popped up these past few months and reading those responses and then looking back at this thread, it's surprising. Ronda's attitude really disappointed people. A lot of people thought she'd be able to handle this. I remember one poster specifically said that it should be Becky/Ronda and if Ronda can't handle it then she shouldn't even be considered for this spot and now we have Ronda's attitude today. This forum's very negative as a whole but one thing I will say is that a lot of people had faith in Ronda. Maybe they had faith in her because Becky would ultimately go over her, maybe she proved them wrong but it was enough for people to not see Ronda's attitude. This week's changed a lot of people. Ronda's destroyed this feud and her good will with others.

You generally have to be wary of their attack, but in this case nope. lol In contrast, her fight with Cyborg was just as short as with Ronda, but much more clearly something she had a strategy going in for, picking her shots and actually trying to defend and counter things. You see a game plan to get an advantage and then pressing that advantage. With Ronda she just shrugged off every punch like it wasn't shit and pushed in to keep knocking on her until she went down. Made Ronda look like a joke.

I’m starting to dislike Becky Lynch.
Her whole “pseudo Conor McGregor” act is starting to annoy me. And I say that as somebody who can’t f***ing stand McGregor. And I’m Irish myself.
The “cocky walk”, the cringeworthy attempt to be the king of smack talk on Twitter, I’m over it.
I’m a Ronda fan but she’s killing herself here. Just put the phone down and stop embarrassing yourself. This whole “I DON’T CARE ABOUT THE SCRIPT” thing is legitimately one of my most hated things when watching wrestling. Hated it when CM Punk was doing it, hated it when Russo was doing it, hate it now. What’s wrong with an old fashioned blood feud without breaking the fourth wall? We all know Ronda could kill these girls if she wanted to... but we WERE INVESTED in the idea that Becky could beat her.
Now? I’m starting to hope Charlotte IS in the match so she can shut both of them up.

Now weeks later we get this stuff and it's like "oh, so you're going for THAT." It's stupid.

Maybe they had faith in her because Becky would ultimately go over her, maybe she proved them wrong but it was enough for people to not see Ronda's attitude. This week's changed a lot of people. Ronda's destroyed this feud and her good will with others. Ronda's been a consistently divisive sort of figure; she came in with a lot of doubters, a lot of people who figured she'd be booked to kill their interest in the show, figured she would suck, or just didn't like her as a person to begin with. She ended up being pretty good and not being booked too insanely invincible, and even though her promos continued to get riffed on and her shit like weird interviews kept people down on her as a person, she seemed like she was doing well. Happy to be there, finding her groove, putting on some decent to good matches. She wasn't delivering any of the external results WWE wanted but she did very well within the world of WWE itself and it seemed like there was potential there. But now the darker side of things are showing more and more; the cracks were there around Survivor Series when this feud started and she went on her Millennial Man rants over and over again, because it was the unlikable real person bleeding into the character again and even those who could separate performer from performance were confronted by her on her bullshit again. But the idea of a big womens' main event and Becky being in it and all this stuff made for a situation people were ready to get into and believe in, because this and the Kofi thing are drumming up a lot of hope nad goodwill right now from a pretty cynical fanbase. It's different and exciting and it'll be so cool. Ronda's ruining that now with these kayfabe-breaking tweets and it's not just cornball embarrassment, it's her actively undermining the build to something people are legitimately excited for. She's committing the cardinal sin of wrestling with these comments, but I think she's actually committing an even worse one that's playing the big undercurrent to everything bothering people here: she's taking something people are excited for, and she's ruining it. It's one thing to be bad or disappointing or underdeliver; if you don't have your hopes up you can only be so hurt by something failing. But when you get someone to actually be happy and excited for something, get them to come out of their cynical shell and be genuinely interested in something that taps into why they love wrestling and rekindles their spark, and then you snuff that spark out, you're the dirt worst. And I think that's the big driving factor making people turn on this wholesale.

I think that this feud has no "good guy", at least from a kayfabe point of view. Becky is a bitch because she's an entitled person that beats up and wrecks whatever she wants because she has the crowd's support. Ronda is taking herself too seriously and is stuck in her ways, digging her heels to the ground and power through the shenanigans about it by force. Charlotte is a scumbag that knows this isn't her fight but slithers her way to the match because she can't handle the fact that she's not the main focus of the division anymore. Everyone involved in this comes across as unlikable in one way or another and that takes away from the build-up for me.

It doesn’t take a genius to not acknowledge there’s a script. It’s like Robert Di Niro breaking character mid-scene and saying “Sorry director, can we do that again?”

I mean, this part of it isn't even really live. We're talking about tweets. I think because Becky hasn't been on TV much lately and we aren't seeing much interaction between the three, all we really have to discuss at the moment is the tweets. They gotta do SOMETHING with them on TV this week besides have Ginger Crutch Ninja show up and try to wreck shit only to get dragged away by security again. It's stuff like this that's why events like Fastlane shouldn't exist. WWE keeps wanting to build to WrestleMania, but they also have this show coming up and are like "There's this thing we got, as well".

It would be like De Niro stopping in the middle of Raging Bull to tell the audience that the only reason he’s taking these blows is because the script calls for it. Otherwise he’d be KO’ing all of these loser actors without breaking a sweat.

This had me wondering how Watts and Cornette would’ve handled Ronda just pissing all over kayfabe like that. Than I wondered what Twitter would’ve looked like back in the 80s. So here’s an idea for anyone with the time and the drive. There needs to be a website call f Territory Tweets that acts as a Twitter feed but with tweets from people in the business at the time. Someone please have at this idea and come get me when you do so I can at least help with it.

And I think that's the big driving factor making people turn on this wholesale.
There's really no separation between herself and her character anymore so that just further confused people who are on the fence about her. Yeah I can acknowledge you're a good wrestler but I hate what kind of person you are. Yeah, I can acknowledge who you're trying to be on screen but when you're being yourself then that on-screen character isn't really an "on-screen character" anymore. This whole Becky and Charlotte thing really damaged her to the point where I really don't want her interacting with them or interacting with anyone else on the roster especially given her attitude. She just cannot handle the crowd response and that impacts everything she does. How she looks, how she speaks, how she works in the ring, how she tweets, everything's connected to that. Given she can't accurately juggle what she needs to given that position, why should I care? Kofi's whole thing, see, THAT is the perfect WM feud. It's a natural storyline that fans gravitated to in a way that it makes everyone look good. Kofi is playing his part, Bryan's playing his part, New Day's playing their part, Owens is playing his part, Rowan, they're all doing their thing and it's great week in and week out. No social media wars, no breaking the fourth wall, none of that and yet we love it. Even the Lesnar/Rollins stuff, while it's been underwhelming, hasn't gone quite to this level quite yet and it's not being positioned as THE WM feud. Either way, Ronda's basically screwed it all up and the fact she actually dehyped a feud that people were already pretty invested in says something. People were dealing with the Charlotte negativity even if they didn't want it. People were still going "I'll see where this goes" or at least somewhat handling it. No one is dealing with this due to the different variables that Ronda's thrown this feud under the bus.
Legitimately wouldn’t be surprised if Ronda said “If it wasn’t for this script right here, I’d have your arm broken in two!” Like... I’m a Ronda fan but surely she can’t be THAT dumb? It doesn’t take a genius to not acknowledge there’s a script. It’s like Robert Di Niro breaking character mid-scene and saying “Sorry director, can we do that again?” I went back and peeped the promo, yeah, Ronda said "you, me and everyone else here knows that I have the ability to kill you with my bare hands without breaking a sweat and the only thing stopping me is my decision not to." 2:50 Yeah, she said that.
