To me, seeing how much Rousey has fallen off the wagon promo-wise, I’m just like “What were they supposed to do for two and a half months in a Rousey v Lynch feud if only one of the people in it can actually cut a promo on TV without losing their train of thought?”. Get someone talking about her. Have her go Goldberg,just talking less and letting actions talk for her. People said for years Roman should have been a silent monster,nor eason why Ronda couldnt be. Have a 3-lines script for her,done. You dont need two people to have rambles to have a good feud,this is something people often critic WWE for,it shouldnt be a defense now. You can have an unlikely allienc eof her and becky vs The Squad/Steph as unlikekly violent allies. You can even go the MVP-Matt Hardy route and have they compete in different athelitcs/frenemies competion for a while. There is plenty of positive chocies that dont involved Charlotte and not havin Ronda ramble Asuka perfectly was able to avoid getting into this twitter beef with Becky and the feud was better for it. Should have done the same here. Ronda saying on Raw after the Rumble that she owns the ground under her feet and will own Becky at Mania was PERFECT. They didn't HAVE to interact with each other every week. Hell, do what they did with Bret vs Shawn or Rock vs Brock and show them training hard knowing how important the match is. Do that for 4-5 weeks of TV and damn if you don't have a hot match people are excited to see! |

I just hope this hasn’t lost them their chance at the actual main event spot at WM35. I mean, crowds are still hot for Lynch, and I doubt most of them will let some poorly-planned Twitter banter from the other person change that, but it feels like just as many people are now invested in the similar Kofi Kingston story now as they are with Lynch, especially with the extra context of him never even having a 1-on-1 world title shot, let alone winning the thing. Not to mention them possibly going with Lesnar v Rollins just because.

I still care way more about this triple threat than Kofi vs. Bryan and want it to main event, but yeah, at the rate things are going now there just might be a change of plans. She's just so bad at it. Agreed, it's at the point now where if they DID decide to let Kofi main event I would be disappointed but understand it. They could open the show which, next to the main event, is the best spot on the WM card. |

SO... This is what we have:
Ronda has confidence issues and she's being owned constantly by Becky, who mocks her on Twitter, beats her up on TV and then mocks her again on Twitter. In an attempt to counter this, Ronda tries to talk trash and fails at it, making people mock her for how bad she is and then in comes Becky and mocks her even more.
Then there's Becky, someone who has struggled to make it to the top of the game and, once she got there, she has gone Predator mode and lay waste on anything generates body heat. She starts mocking people and, given her following that was already by her side, the material she uses and who she targets, her following and social media popularity increases. To some, she can do no wrong right now and then she sets her sights on Ronda, going all in (AEW jokes notwithstanding) on someone known to be emotionally fragile and easy to anger. Becky's attacks landed, people liked them and we're off to the races.
Somewhere in all of this, Charlotte is involved and she's a scumbag about things.
This is the problem: You have a former UFC champion known to have a volatile attitude and being able to wreck people with relative ease that's going mad over being mocked constantly by an opponent who has pretty everyone on her side. Then you have everyone laugh at her over how bad she is at the pro wrestling deal, which triggers Becky to mock Ronda even more for the sake of getting heat on the match and the cycle continues until WrestleMania, if not afterwards. From a kayfabe point of view, Ronda hasn't had anything on Becky since their first interaction in November, barely landing a hit on her but being beaten up by Becky every time they're in the ring. From an insider point of view, Ronda isn't fond of Becky mocking her and people laughing at her due to Becky's attacks and due to not being a good trash talker.
Ronda's psychological issues have her want acceptance from people, show them that she's good enough to belong in wrestling. She found success at it by putting up good performances in the ring but other facets like character work or interesting speeches leave a lot to be desired, coming across as fake to some. Once Becky's attacks get to Ronda, her shortcomings in how to defend herself verbally or on social media lead her to anger and ends up making a fool out of herself.
Becky built her fanbase on being the scrappy underdog that won't stop fighting until she wins and them found popularity by turning her character around and becoming a vengeful bitch entitled of retribution because she's not on top of the mountain yet. From a professional point of view, Becky can't stop because people love her being a witty and snarky bitch set on revenge for someone the crowd doesn't like anymore and her crowning achievement is finally Ronda for the title at WrestleMania, beating Ronda at anything and everything along the way. Nothing else would suffice.
Charlotte exists and she's happy to be here.
TL;DR: Ronda is Bret Hart, Becky is Steve Austin and things are going to get worse before they get better.

I wish wrestlers just stayed off social media lol.
As much as I love her work, I find some of Becky's social media antics to be kinda corny, but at least she tries to walk the line of coming off shooty but staying in kayfabe(kinda like Punk used to do)
"Fake" and "script" are two words that can kill an angle in wrestling imo.

They haven't all been hits (some of the Asuka tweets were just lame), but Becky's corniness is a huge reason why people love her. I get why it'd turn people off, though. Ronda's tweets today weren't even entertaining in a "so bad, they're good" way like when she was accusing Becky of stealing her panties. |
