And here I was worried about there already being a thread about how GOOD that promo was. Contrary to what WWE thinks, we don't like it when they go all "Shooty McShooterson" in their promos. We hated it when they did "This is Phil Brooks talking to Paul Levesque", so why does Trips think it's now cool for him to go "I need to talk about Richard Fliehr for a moment." We get our intelligence mocked as it is when they do dumb stuff, it's worse when they do faux-smart stuff. To be clear, I was saying that I DID love it. |

Well, he really shit the bed out there. Especially considering this is the absolute worst time to do a worked shoot story when they are running a story about Roman's real cancer.
I expect next week this promo will be completely ignored and the direction and tone of this feud will change.

What's disappointing is that if you get rid of the shoot stuff with Flair (and they could have kept everything he said but just used Ric Flair instead of real name) there are pieces of that promo that were actually pretty good

Made me roll me eyes so much and changed the channel a few times. This is like when he was sad when Kevin Nash broke his heart when in 2003 he hit him with sledgy a few times. HHH did worse to ric in 2005 in what felt like a two segment beat down and now he’s takes it personal when someone else does it. GTFO

A scripted beating up of Batista onto Ric Flair did not need Paul Levesque. It needed Triple H, not Paul Levesque.

It was stupid for a lot of reasons but one of the bigger ones is that he talked about Batista not getting the character but instead getting the man or whatever the hell he was going for there but he’ll still have a 20 minute 80s action movie tribute entrance when it comes time for this blood feud to reach its climax.

I could see it maybe working for something like Nia Jax v Becky since it was a legitimate botched punch that took her out of Survivor Series, but there's legit no reason for us to really believe that an attack on a 70-year-old man (that didn't lead to an arrest) suddenly is bleeding into real life all of a sudden. |

I think Batista has now been renamed as “Dave”. Can’t wait until the announce team has to hype this match “this couldn’t be more personal, Triple H against Dave and Richard Fliehr will be ringside, this match will also be fought inside one of their houses”.
How many weeks until the entire crowd is giving Dave babyface pops in this feud?
