Talk about yikes. They really dropped the ball on someone the people liked that fit pretty much all the criteria Vince McMahon looks for in a man.
I realize not everyone is destined for the top, but he was basically right there.
They didn't want Brock to beat him at the Rumble, so they switched him with Finn. And then at the very next opportunity, they have him lose to Baron f***ing Corbin?
What the hell, Vince?

You mean deliberately booking a dude to always choke every time he's in a match with actual stakes was a bad idea?
And the hell of it is, I feel like if he hadn't gotten over he'd have been champion by now. He's everything Vince looks for in a guy but they seem to have gone, "Whatever, crowd already likes him so we don't need to actually have him do anything," on the subject.

Yep, and he killed Lio Rush when he did.

Its really amazing that the WWE gets all of these ridiculous money deals because they’re really bad at their job.

It's insane to me that this is the second year in a row where the guy won't have anything planned for WM until maybe a couple weeks before.

They've turned him into this generation's Lex Luger.

He seemed liked a cant miss guy. He won the MITB and seemed unbeatable. SHIELD basically reunited just to stop him from crushing Roman.... and now... whatever

Remember how he lost his world title match that Stephanie personally gave him for participating in Survivor Series? No one really mentioned that.

Wouldn't the correct term be Lex Luger'd?

Another case of WWE not pulling the trigger when they could/should have and everyone losing as a result.

Wouldn't the correct term be Lex Luger'd? Actually I think Ryback'd is the better term here, seeing as he was turned heel for literally no other reason than "top babyface needs canon fodder" and then they expected to be able to turn him back without any kind of repercussions but he was obviously less over than he was when he was organically a face. Same thing could be said about Strowman at this point, who is meandering in the mid-to-top-tier with no real purpose or direction, all the while his popularity continues to dwindle (much like Ryback).

It's kind of hard to book Braun as a serious threat for the Universal title when he's been proven unable to beat the current champion. The prime aspect of the Hogan-Andre feud was that neither Vince ever put him in a spot to win the title _until_ he faced Hogan for the first time. Andre was deliberately kept away from the title all that time because he was a big enough name not to need it.
Perhaps because of his work with Big Show, however, it would seem that Braun was intended to get Show's treatment rather than Andre's. The issue is that Braun was far too green to work with Brock, but pressure was building from all sides to get that program started rather than wait until Braun could work well enough with Lesnar so that the result wasn't an utter shitshow.

Same as Joe or Nakamura...sure not everyone can be champion but if you don't see it coming yet end the program after 1-2 matches not 5-6 that makes the man look like a halfwit.
Imagine if they get cold feet on Becky or Kofi running up to mania, best thing would be a single defeat and them regrouping for summerslam (or winning the big one at backlash or post WM raw for meaningless swerve) you don't have them losing 4 rematches in a row extinguishing their long term potential.

At this rate, he'll be lucky if he gets a slot in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.
