I think, in my eyes, this is now the “Kofi Mania” instead of the “Becky Mania”. Kofi’s story is being handled much better, Kofi has been around longer, and his antagonist is doing much better work.
To me the WWE title should always main event WM, so yes, this match should main event. It'll probably be the best match on the show anyway. I think this is the case where the whole build for this Becky/Ronda/Charlotte thing has just been too long and when that happens WWE overthinks and overbooks to the point where no one cares. I mean I still don't even get why Charlotte is in the match yet the company acts like she's anointed by the grace of God and Vince McMahon and we shouldn't question this.
The Kofi thing has come along more recently and they have less time to screw it up. His push really just started the week before the Elimination Chamber.

Whoever booked underdog Becky Lynch winning her WrestleMania shot by getting punched in the face by Ronda Rousey should be fired.
What a f***ing terrible idea.
She needs to lose the crutch entirely. Should have done so at the beginning of the match. Hobbled to the stage, thrown the crutch down, run to the ring and just lay right into Charlotte.
Yeah, by now I just want this women's title shit over with. Make it the main event for the historical value and due to lack of a better alternative option but my interest in the actual story and match has completely died.
I’m kind of down on the Kofi story a bit because we’ve seen the “Vince doesn’t want this guy as champ” angle like 884 times already. It would have been better if they just let it play out naturally.
It’s still way better than the clusterf*** that the women’s deal has become though.
It’s a trend, but yes, remove Vince from this story, and it would have written itself.
Say what you want about how the WWE has treated women (and it’s been bad until recently) but they’ve treated black talent badly for decades as well. Kofi winning the title at Mania, regardless of how marginalized the titles are now, is a pretty big deal too.

Kofi's is better at the moment because there's a small level of mystery, and it's fresh.
Ladymania has had
- Nia Jaxx getting a push after botching and throwing a frikkin Haymaker - The hottest act in the company being told they need to apologize if they want to keep their title shot. - Becky actually apologizing to HHH and Steph - The head of company putting the hottest act in the company in her place. - A Rumble winner replaced despite the above. - The company and Charlotte responding to boos and criticism of this like Cardi B. - Ronda Rousey angrily ranting about Avocado Toast - Charlotte having a breakdown and cosplaying Helena Bonham Carter in Alice in Wonderland. - The hottest act in the company losing cleanly to someone on another show who is doing nothing. - A fake knee injury. - Multiple one legged crutch beatdowns against multiple opponents - Giant security dudes getting falcon punched by people half their size. - The champion relinquishing their title so they can get a match with someone not in the match. - Ronda Rousey in a shoot, sister. - A match with someone hopping around on one knee, which I'm pretty sure was for the title... - A wrestler yelling how this business is fake, but still trying to get a match with someone instead of beating them up like a normal person. - A rage filled tirade against WWE while the subject was getting their hair done. - An arrest - The total destruction of the plucky Dana Brooke. - Ronda telling people they need to pay $60 to see her do an armbar, despite WWE being a Netflix Subscription based economy instead of PPV.
I became more invested in Kofi when he ran the gauntlet. I’d be fine with Becky closing out the show and I still think that’s the right move but I’d be thrilled to see Kofi with the WWE title at the end.
