I like mark henry and I’m loving the build up to this match which should also be good, but unless it’s a retirement match then no way it should be last. This would of been a good match to go second to last if there was only one world title though

He's not saying it should close WM instead of the others, just that it's the same caliber as the other three and should be seen as such.

It's not the most ill-thought out thing I've seen a wrestler say this week, but it's still pretty ridiculous.

He's entitled to his own opinion and given the proper build maybe these two could be in the conversation but they at best will be the 3rd best match to close the show and even that is a stretch. At no point should a random filler match between Styles and Orton main event over the stories that Kingston or Lynch have been building. I am all for a match like Hogan/Rock main eventing if the situation calls for it but these two aren't at that level.

"This is a main event match, guys!"
You're right, Mark, this IS a main event match... on literally any other card than this one.

AJ vs. Orton should have main evented Wrestlemania 33, so he's half right.

This match is less important than every other announced match.

It could very well have been the main event if AJ still had the WWE title. As of now though? It's just a solid upper midcard match.

So far the feud is great and they’re knocking it out if the park.
But there’s no way it’s main eventing over Rollins/Brock, Becky/Ronda(/Charlotte) or Kofi/Bryan.
I’m sure it’ll be an awesome match if given the time though. It’s one of those matches I’m really looking forward to.

He didn't mention closing the show, at least in the quoted bit, just that it should be a main event and WM typically has a few of them. Doesn't seem crazy to me.

I could be misreading but isn't this essentially, "WWE worker hypes WWE match for WWE special event."?

It screams ‘Main event’ more than the other 3 matches that are being billed as the possible main event that’s for sure. But there’s no title involved so it won’t.

Lmao. Henry pushing the feud between the two dudes who are elders who don't ruin the locker room. Kind of makes him come off like one of those music reviewers who will rate an album higher if an artist namedrops a lot of "music critic appeal" artists and influences in their lyrics just for the respect factor, regardless of if it's actually well done or anything.

I feel like Orton is the wrestling equivalent of a "comedian's comedian".
I mean he's good but everyone in the WWE puts him on this gigantic pedestal. Not criticising Orton but I find it really interesting the amount of praise he gets from his peers for a guy who has never been a stratosphere breaking star.

Not criticising Orton but I find it really interesting the amount of praise he gets from his peers for a guy who has never been a stratosphere breaking star. It has felt more this way in recent years cause he feels like a part-time wrestler almost. Like he'll be the guy they bring him in for a few top matches and if they want someone to transition the belt. But book him like he's the guy, stick a good storyline on him and he can be pretty entertaining. Look at his heel work in 2009, never seen a better heel. His work during the Evolution vs Shield storyline was not too shabby either.

Orton can be really great when he feels inspired, but when he's phoning it in, he certainly looks the part.
Thankfully, we've seen more of the former since turning heel, because you know he was enjoying getting to destroy Jeff Hardy's ear in incredibly painful-looking ways.
